I really hate this day. I hope no one tries to pull anything on me today. Mood wise I am doing ok today. However my situation has not changed. Just nothing I can do about it until later. So carry on....

Good day all. My boss will be back today, and I'm glad. I need some uninterrupted work time, and I can't get that when I have to answer phones and pick up the slack.
I doubt there will be any April Fools jokes around here (though I was really hoping Brian's boss was going to say that when he went in to pick up his stuff this morning). I'm not really in the mood for them today anyway.
Though I do have a couple links that someone might find interesting.
My Uncle David is making a digital photo album for my grandparents. When I was 9 or so, he made me a photo album of pictures from my childhood. He asked me to scan some of those pictures so he could include them in the album. So if anyone's interested in seeing pictures of me when I was little, you can visit: http://picasaweb.google.com/HartzDesign/MichellesOldPictures (only a couple pictures are from my geeky stage, from about 8 to 15, I had huge glasses and always wore my hair in a braid and looked really dorky)
A morning of April Fool's with a seven year old: "Hey Dad! There is a snake by the fridge!" ... "Oh no, Mom! Your hair turned blue!" ... etc.
One of the web tech shows I watch (Systm) was really fun. They pulled some good ones. On one of them, they ran an experiment on an intern's motorcycle. They set it up so it would get a "Right Guard" drip into the intake on her motorcycle to help her get better mileage. They took a can of "Right Guard" and some hoses and made it look good.
It worked! She started getting 2x the mileage. She was so excited. During the credits of the show, they showed the guys sneaking extra gas into her motorcycle every day last week. She really fell for it though.
Good Morning, Nice pics MZ, it looks like you were a Daddy's girl.
My back tried to play a joke on me this morning, I was feeling fine until I got out of bed. I have a jirocrapter appointment at 3:45, I just hope he doesn't go UH OH! We need to remove your hip.....just kidding just kidding.....

I was so excited to get the station back on the air last night.
But today I feel like crap for the second day in a row.
Sunday afternoon I decided to take down the projector from my ceiling. I had to stand on a chair and work over my head in an awkward position. The bolts were mega tight and it took me forever to loosen them because of the position and the small work space. I just knew I was gonna pay for it the next day but I never thought it would be this bad.
My chest and back, right where the shoulder is hurt like hell since about 5 AM Monday.
I'm so sick of this crap. It's a combination of getting older and being out of shape, and I'm sick of it.
Ten years ago I'd have mild discomfort (if any) for a day and be done with it. Now everything lingers for weeks.
I just long for one day where NOTHING hurts
Bah, sorry to gripe, but this sucks.
I hope everyone else is having a great April Fools day.

Thus began my fear of the dentist!
I already hated going, but when I was about 7 my parents took me to one who thought he was an amatuer comedian.
He took x-rays, I waited in the lobby, he came out shaking his head, looking at the x-rays and said with a completely deadpan delivery "They all gotta come out".
The he told me he was kidding and I had just one cavity he needed to fill.
JR- I'm sure once you get moved and settled then you can start putting your life back together and also work on getting back in shape and feeling better. One thing at a time buddy. It's hard to do all that when there is so much hanging over your head.

JR, I know it sounds silly, but have you thought about "warming up" before doing stuff like that? You know, doing a few stretches, a couple jumping jacks, something to warm the muscles up first.
When I worked at the spa, the massage therapists always suggested drinking a ton of water after a massage, because they massage all the toxins out of your muscles, and you can actually feel sore and kind of hung over. I'm guessing it's similar with hard work, so maybe drinking a ton of water would help.
MZ, not silly at all. I just can't get that through my thick scull. A perfect example is my exercise bike. I go in spurts. I'll ride it every day for six months, then go three months without touching it.
Well, I've learned the hard way that if I just hop back on after three months and start biking, sometime in the next 24 hours, usually when I'm sitting watching TV, it will feel like someone is stabbing hot knives into my calves. Once it was so bad I couldn't stand on them.
Stretching makes absolute sense. Again, I think when you're younger or in better shape your muscles adapt easier. But right now if I do anything out of the ordinary range of motion I seem to pay for it the next few days or even weeks.
This one really sucks though because you just can't not be affected by it. A deep breath will hurt it, a cough REALLY hurts it. I just hope it goes away fast. Next time I'll do some stretching first.
JR, in the meantime, an Epson Salt bath will do wonders. And Brian and I swear by the Wiccy Magic Muscle bar from Lush. It's almost instant relief. It's kind of like Icy Hot but less intense and with a better smell. http://usa.lush.com/cgi-bin/lushdb/00253?expand=Skincare
Today is my first day of trying to get back in shape. I will mostly be watching portions and trying to make better food choices. Money is too tight to really go and buy a bunch of healthier food so it's the best we can do. I think my husband wants to move the loveseat into the spare bedroom and move the Total Gym into the living room so that it is in our face. We don't get much company so it shouldn't be a problem. We can always move that out of the way and bring out the recliner if need be for certain times.

you go woo! I started doing the 20 min a day Pilates routine. I hardly ever make it to the gym anymore. I like it. No machines. I do have one of the excercise balls too that I really like for stomach crunches.

Thanks JD! If I could afford it, I'd be back at my gym in a heartbeat! That place was fancy and had EVERYTHING! But the price reflects that and no other gym will do for me now. i was spoiled
So home will have to do. My sister wants to start walking with us, but we want to wait until the weather stabilizes. With my husband's asthma trouble it is for the best.
