Goooooooooooooood Morning, it's gonna be 74 again today. The birds were chirping zippity doo da and there is a slight comfortable breeze. Last night we sat in the back yard and watched Little A play in the sand box, then I put the steaks and taters on the grill and AC moved up to the deck to watch me. Tonight might be a repeat. smile.gif

Morning all.

Well the boy passed his drug test yesterday, but he is still failing all subjects and on the waiting list for the outpatient school. Very frustrating, but I am reading some good books that have shown that what I have done over the years- micro managing, has backfired, like it should. I am trying some new things out...we will see. He is going to take a college placement test next weekend. If he is ready, I am going to see about him taking the GED early and maybe he can start college. Sounds strange, but I have someone from the high school program at another college helping me. We are going to a career fair tomorrow night that deals with all the majors associated with Visual Arts. It is a technical school where I worked before. I am hoping that this will change the pendulum.

Today is tax day...anyone still need to file?

tulsa metro also 70 ish today and sunny, but windy -- two outa three ain't bad...

Not that there is anything wrong with micro managing, some kids need that little extra. My story is of a friend of mine that is my age. His mom had him under her thumb all the way through high school. He was a normal kid until his Senior year, he dropped out put his hair in dread locks and started hitch hiking across the states. I saw him a few years ago and he was strung out on God knows what. I asked him what are you doing to yourself. He said he was finally experiencing life. I started thinking about what he said. Then comparing our growing up. I was in a small amount of trouble as a teen, but my parents believed in letting me make my own mistakes. His parents wouldn't even let him watch R rated movies or go out. I grew up and had been there and done that, he is now experiencing the things he thinks he missed out on. This doesn't happen to everyone, but I have seen it quite often. hmm.gif

I am sitting on my deck in the sun, its 75 degrees. Little A opened the screen door a little bit ago to let the cat out and then walked away with it open. After about a minute of being open a big gust of wind sucked her punching balloon out of the house and it popped when it hit the tree in the back yard. While I ran to get the pieces of it before she saw it, she left it open again...this time was a mylar balloon. Now when she finds these are missing I will be the A-hole hmm.gif


Last night I was talking to my mom on the phone she said she was about to take a bath and started telling me that my dad was talking to a friend on the phone. She proceeded to undress and walked out of her bedroom towards the bathroom and then see's that my dads friend was in the living room not on the phone. lmao.gif Her new name is the streak!
