My favorite is "I'll be home for Christmas". Three generations of military men and women have made that song really mean something. My second favorite is actually a song that I wrote myself called "Christmas without Mary" that I wrote the first year that my sister was in the military and it was written for her.

Did ya ever get that song recorded? We could always add it to the playlist
That was a good pick Trish. I didn't even think about it. When our men & women are off fighting for us I guess "I'll Be Home For Christmas" has a lot of extra meaning.
No, I never got it recorded. I have a whole album of songs that I wrote that will never be heard by anyone but me and my family. I did let a band use one of my songs, but they butchered it, so I haven't done that again. It was titled "Let's make this last dance last forever" and they DID. It was awful.

My favorite Christmas song is the one from "the Grinch" with Jim Carey. It's sang by Faith Hill and for the life of me mind is blank as to what its called. I hate that!
My old time favorite is I'll be home for Christmas and O Holy Night.
Radio-wise, it'd have to be Nat King Cole's "The Christmas Song"
Singing-wise, it's a tie: The "Hallelujah Chorus" and a song called "On Christmas Eve". I've sung both of those songs at midnight mass for 10 years....until this year. The church I sing at is under huge renovation and can't accomodate the choir (a mix of current high school students from my alma mater and high school alumni). Last year, I believe we were up to 120 singers. It was awesome.
"I'll Be Home For Christmas" just because Bing is sooo smooth and its not one that gets tooo overplayed from October to February, the Christmas season.
I think I did this for about 8 yrs- call the lonely and lowly intern at our classic rock station on christmas day, wish him or her a merry christmas, and then request Sympathy For The Devil by the Stones. Not one of them ever turned me down!
Ah yes, I am going to HELL. But I expect a high-five from the bad guy!

I have actually won an Elvis Impersonator contest. I usually stick to that. I used to walk into a joint and they would be puting in requests for me. I guess I'm allright?

That would be alot of fun D. I had the chance to sing with my Grandfather on stage in 1998. It was the closest I had ever been with him. You could see he was very proud. He lived in Texas so I only ever got to see him 3 times in my lifetime. He died last year.

He was inducted into the Western Swing Hall of Fame, His band toured with Bob Wills back in the early days. He was here visiting friends and did a supper show and asked me to sing with him. He knew my love for music was equal to his and we had a ball.
