I just filled up my tank for the low low price of $80.00.  This is insane.

14 miles to the gallon just ain't cuttin' it anymore.  hmm.gif

I've been putting only $20 at a time in the van because I didn't want to get screwed if it dropped a lot.

I finally caved today and filled it up because I found it at $3.59 a gallon where other stations are at $3.69. I'm convinced now that we really will break the $4.00 mark by the end of May. no.gif

Gas went to $3.69 here this morning.  I saw they were just starting to change the signs so I stopped, thinking I'd get it before the new price went up.  Too late; they had already changed the price on the pumps.  I read that oil has hit another all time high.....over $117 a barrel.  This is insane!

I'm so bummed that we ever sold the motorcycle! It was a pain because it was a crotchrocket but the gas was great. When we sold it we did have intentions of getting something better but things always got in the way. cry

At one time I had a '62 Vette....just loved, loved, loved that car!!  I also owned a '72 Pontiac Firebird.  I sold the Firebird shortly after I got married, and the Vette went when my oldest girl was born.  I shoulda kept the Vette!!!  cry  I kick myself in the butt all the time for ever getting rid of it.

If I could've figured out a way to haul a baby around in it, I never would have sold it, but a car seat just wouldn't install properly.  My husband offered me his truck and he'd take the Vette.  Yeah right, like I would've gone for that.  Anyway, it was just as well that I did sell it.  Insurance was high, and I had gotten a few speeding tickets, haha.  And once the second kid came along there was no way it could be a family car.  I have my memories of it....it was fun while it lasted.  Maybe someday I'll own another one.  smile

It is sad. I just can't comprehend how come no one can fix this. I mean how can the oil companies keep showing these profits? I am shocked that no future candidates are talking about fixing it, it is like the whole government gets free gas! (I am sure most do!) I also put 80 in yesterday and it about made me cry. Don't get me started about the grocery store either. Things are really bad everywhere and I do not see an end in sight :(

I've started trying to just save MyPoints points for gas cards and grocery cards. Forget anything fun. Must get cards for necessity only. cry

Crap, those Prius's don't really lose their value!

I checked a local website for cars.  new ones are going for about 27,000, but used ones with as much as 100,000 miles are still going for 20,000!!!

It sounds great, but I just can't imagine a mom, dad, and two high school aged boys with luggage taking off on a family vacation for 4-5 days in a car that size. Someone would be killed before the trip was over.

I'm not knocking the car, just that its not for everyone and most of us can't afford two cars for different driving situations.

It's actually a lot bigger than you would think - I was surprised.  There is a big hatchback area, and the backseat is very roomy.

I was looking at the photo's online. It does look surprising roomy, expecially the cargo area by the hatchback.

Yeah, when I used to see them on the road, they looked small to me.  But when I sat inside one, it surprised me.

This conversation reminded me of something amusing.

Paul Gilbert is a total kook, and has a really silly & funny website that he does himself: paulgilbert.com

This is on one of his pages:
