Taking advantage of the crappy weather..

Well, WI doesn't look to be coming out of the winter like comma. I know, it's supposed to be 50 during the day. Yuk.
I also don't really have a warm n fuzzy spot for my Saturn wagon.
Well, I've decided to use it to my advantage.
Bikin' to work. It's warm enough to ride but, not so warm that I'm sweating my stuff off.
Then, when it's awesome out, I'll drive a whole pile.
Both of my other cars are convertibles.
BBQ/Convertibles. Life doesn't get much better.smile.gif

Man, I've always wanted to own a convertible.  The closest I ever got was a T-top in the Firebird I had.  hmm  Those things were kinda heavy to take off.  They each had a case to go into when you weren't using them, but living in MI, you better have them in the trunk just in case the weather turned, haha.

hey sandy I had an '84 T-top firebird too back in the early 90s. I ran that thing into the ground, but to this day, I've never had a car respond the way that thing did when I just tapped the gas pedal. that sucker would buckle down and just purr like a cat. I loved them t-tops! I could feel the air change when I was driving like past the lake. blue silver spec paint and white leather interior. man that was schweet! smile.gif

Mine was painted gun metal blue, whatever the heck that means, haha.  It was a lighter blue and I think it had some metallic stuff in the paint.  I took that car when we went down to Oklahoma City....that baby flew once you got it going!!  Four on the floor.  But I'll tell ya, they were made more for bar hopping than long distance road trips cuz once we got to OK, I couldn't feel my butt for 3 days.  Stiff, stiff suspension in 'em.  I miss that car though, it was fun to drive.

No, mine didn't have the bird on it.  You sure your's was a Firebird?? TransAm's had the big old firebird painted on the hoods.  Same car, just a little more sportier and costlier, haha.  Mine saw lots of bars.  It knew it's way home many, many nights.  laughing.gif

Well, it will be Wednesday and I'm still riding to work. Threatening weather for Friday. Might drive. We'll see.
So far, twenty two miles on the bike and ten on the run after biking. I'm at one hundred fifty five pounds.wink.gif

Holy cow Squonk! Do you bike and run that in the same day, or is that over a couple of days??

No, I ride about 12 miles each day. Then, when I get home, I go for a 4 or 6 mile run.
The biking isn't really supposed to serve as exercise. It's more functional. I'm in my fourth day without driving. All my grocery shopping, even a trip to the hobby shop has been done on bike.
Tomorrow looks to be quite challenging. Weather report says storms, some severe. I'm thinking rain coat. We'll see.smile

It's a sunny and windy 78 degrees here, but the storms are coming. I actually broke a sweat walking into the store on my lunch hour. I'm going to go home and make sure that the way to the basement is clear and ready to go.
