Mother's Day

Mother's Day is this Sunday, May 11th.

I was wondering what everyone may be getting for their mother, mother-in-law, stepmother, etc. I apologize and my sympathies for anyone who may have lost their mother. I am stumped exactly as how to appreciate my Mom this year. And of course siblings are never any help. No one has ideas, everyone is poor. Blah, blah. We have all heard it and been there before.

My Mom is a big Brewer fan now, so I got her a really nice Brewer coffee mug.

Her & my sister are coming to NC with me for two weeks, and my Mom was worried about her plants, so I also bought her some of those Aqua Globe things they show on TV.  But I didn't get the actual aqua globes.

I went to Steins garden center and got her some glass ones that look like mushrooms.  They were more expensive, but I didn't have time to order from the TV and wait.

With my mom gone, I'll just be helping the boy do something for his mom. We'll probably either take her out to eat, or make her dinner at home.

I've offered to take my mom out to eat, or to take her shopping for yarn or clothes. But she has to wait until the following weekend, because I'm also going to my sister's dance performance and helping clean out Grandma's house. She said she'll decide on what she wants when I get there.

Ah yes. I forgot about all you husbands with children. Good luck with that.

My Mom never knows what she would like either. I may go with the giftcard so she can get some new workout clothes or new sneakers. She goes to an aerobics class twice a week. I was leaning this way before.

So far my Mom is getting a homemade card. Money and time is tight, we shall see. Mother's Day is hard for me because we do not have a good relationship and I have a hard time finding something to give that isn't sappy and makes me wanna puke. She doesn't even really truly appreciate flowers either. She just states "oh something for the cats to chew on" hmm

Last year we took her to breakfast.

I miss buying gifts for my mom, 2 grandmas, and my mother-in-law.  They'll all deceased so it's kind of a sad day for me.  I'll buy flowers and take them to the cemetaries on Sunday.

We're both my mom and my MIL pedicures. They never take the time to do it and we know they'll love it.

My hubby and kids already gave me my present - a fishing pole...and it's pink. I mean, that would be a great gift IF I FISHED. I am a fish jinx and whenever I go fishing, no one catches anything. The only good thing about the whole thing was that part of the proceeds from the PINK fishing pole went towards breast cancer research. Oh, and I had to look all happy and excited because M was watching expectantly because she picked it out.

Ooooo. Candles are always nice to have. Especially if they are on sale and a coupon is involved. I think I smell a bubblebath.

Wine, candles and a bubblebath. Ahhhhhhhhhh.
