Hello all. We are down even more staff today and I am worried that they will pull me out of the office to be a staff. I hope not.

On a good note, the Red Wings won last night! They played sooooo good! smile

Good day all!

Yay, it's Friday. It's going to be a good day today, I can feel it! (How's that for optimism? [Well, and 2 shots of espresso.])

Howdy.

I just got to the office after spending some time at the hospital checking on grandma. The dr. thinks she will need some time at a nursing home for therapy and recovery. They are going to keep her in the hospital until Monday because after three days in the hospital, then Medicare will help with the nursing home expenses. She's not in a terrible amount of constant pain, but it hurts her to move around any.

I think its a good thing she's going to the nursing home for a while. We could all take turns helping her, but she is the kind of old lady that makes taking care of her really difficult. We would need help dealing with her.

Ok, on with the day . . .

Morning all. Rainy Friday here. I finished off some more work and sent the boss about 10 e-mails with work to review. She will love that when she returns from vacation. I saved them all until today. Fun. Now I have to go work on local tax returns for OH and KY that are on extension. I sooooo don't want to do them. Anybody interested in preparing the returns for me?

Morning all.

I can not believe the nice stretch of weather we're seeing here in Wisconsin lately. Another sunny day with moderate temps. I love it.

Today I have lunch with Dylan, I'll tell him you all said hi! (even if you didn't)

Tonight I'm going to a Brewer game and hoping they can break a six game skid, but it's not likely as we're playing the first place Cardinals.

I'll tell you, ever since I convinced Webguy to be a Brewer fan the team can't catch a break or win a game hmm.gif

If you're not hung up on accuracy I'll do em'  smile.gif

So, do tell Dylan I said hi.

And more importantly, how did you convince Web to become a Brewers fan?

I think accuracy may be a bit important when it comes to tax returns. Otherwise, you know I would let you help. I could pay you in Tastykakes. Most of the information is laid out on spreadsheets and needs to be reviewed and transformed to the forms.

I tried the tax thing.  It sucked.  A graphic designer is not made to do taxes.  But if I don't have another supplemental source of income next year, I'll probably do it again. *sigh*

I just appealed to his logical side.  I explained that if he were a Brewer fan we could be baseball buddies.  Once I assured him that didn't require spending any additional time communicating with me he was on board.  smile.gif

I was lonely and wanted a buddy. Becoming a Brewers fan was just the price I had to pay.

Go Brewers!

Since you enjoyed that one that guy sent earlier, maybe I will just find bad resumes and send them to you all day long then. That may be less painful. wink

Oh. So I am not good enough anymore? I see. I guess if I had been around more you wouldn't have been so lonely.

The Phillies have been just as good as the Brewers the last four or five years. Okay, maybe just a shade better. The Brewers are a young team and sooner or later they will explode and go on a huge run. I will root for the Brew crew as long as they don't impact my Phillies.

You're plenty good enough for me.

He just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and got caught.

I hope you're right Fuzz. But right now it seems pretty bleak.

The entire team isn't hitting. Which seems to be a recurring theme year after year.

The pitching staff is in shambles (the starters haven't won a game in over a month). Our young ace is out for the year. We're a blister away from losing Ben Sheets at any given moment. Because the starters aren't getting past the 5'th inning the bullpen is over-worked and imploding, just like last year.

Plus our 10 million dollar has-been of a closer Eric Gagne is about a 50/50 gamble every night to save a game or blow a save.

I think it's long past the time in which Ned Yost should have been fired. The guy thinks the fans are stupid, and he says stupid things like "I'm not concerned" and "numbers don't matter to me" when he's asked about his leadoff hitter that's hitting .184 and striking out 40% of his at bats. The idiot refuses to ever admit he made a mistake and refuses to realize when something isn't working. It's SOOOOOOOO frustrating.

Maybe for the sake of the Brewers Web should become a fan of another team. Maybe the Mets or Braves. wink  That way we aren't concerned when they are losing.

Don't worry JR, your team isn't the only one struggling. Our NL MVP of 2006 is hitting around .160 and will probably break his own strike out record for the year this year. Our NL MVP of 2007 has been on the DL with an ankle sprain. He is due back tonight. Hopefully that will help jumpstart the rest of the team. It is still early, but the Phils have been hanging in or around first place. For the first time in a number of years, the Phils had a winning April. Hopefully they can continue to have the May - Sept (if not better) they have had for the past five years.

Go Phils!

THAT is something I would only do to my WORST enemy Web.  You're safe.

That is okay. The Cubs suck. And they are in the division. He may send you to the Cardinals if they stay atop the division.

I would say don't mess with the Cards, but I'm not really into baseball, so say what you want. smile.gif

JR, we had the same thing with the Blues with Plough. He was awful and would never admit he had done something wrong. I still miss Coach Q. I also wish they had Ken Wilson back announcing, but I don't see that ever happening. Man, he could call a game and get you into even if we were losing 10 - 0. Sigh. The good old days. cry.gif

I know what you mean about a good announcer Trish.  Without Bob Eucker our 90 loss seasons would have been unbearable.  That guys makes any game fun to listen to.

As for Ned Yost, I'm SO happy the local sports reporters are FINALLY saying what I've been saying for a year and a half.  I know they have to be careful not to have bad blood with the coach, because their job depends on access to him.  But they've always covered his butt.  It's so different from Chicago.  Here they'll give you YEARS before they start complaining.

Two of the Journal writers do a mailbag twice a week, answering questions from fans.

This week they were really snide in it.  Answering a bunch of the questions with "It's not a concern" which is what Yost says anytime you ask him about a trouble are with the club.

They also came straight out and said that Ned Yost thinks the fans are stupid.  If you're not him, you don't know baseball.

I think the tide is turning and this guys days are numbered.  A sweep by the Cardinals this weekend would probably do it.

Oh, and even players are starting to break from the company line and say things like "This is bull****, I'm sick of hearing it's not a problem, it's early, etc. It's not early and we have to start winning".

Seems to be a direct comment on Yosts laid back attitude.
