It's finally here but I know I have a busy weekend again so probably won't make much difference. Hafta load up the trailer and move some stuff up north before the hockey game tomorrow afternoon.

Going to spend the morning paying various governments. Then I have to start the painful task of preparing boxes for storage. We are moving to a new office in August. In the meantime, they have started preparations to get the old files out of here and into offsite storage. Fun. I suppose it is not a bad day to spend a Friday.

allo, I wish I'd hear from Riggs. I'd know whether or not I should start up studio b or not for awhile. I hope he gets the chance today to get FFR up and running!

I've been wondering about JR too. I sent him a text message last night, but it was after 10:00 his time and they may have been worn out and went to bed early. I haven't heard anything back yet.
I've been planning on having my roof here at the shop redone. That hail storm that rolled through here a few weeks ago really did some damage in the area and shingle prices are going through the roof (pun intended). I just talked to the lumber yard manager and he said they have enough for me of the ones that are on sale right now so I think I'll go ahead and get them bought and let them sit here in my shop until my wife's nephew and crew can come do it for me. They are talking about being able to do it towards the end of June.
The boy came to the realization that today is his last Friday ever as a 1st grader. Only two more days of realizations.
Happy day, all. We finally got a break from the rain. If the rivers come up much more I'm going to have a serious commute problem. Sunny and beautiful today for the department picnic. Get to leave at 2:30 today to go and BBQ. Not a bad gig if you can get it. They are having a washers tournament and the smack talk has been going on for two weeks. This should be really interesting.

I am all for talking smack, but what exactly is washers?
Do you see who can do the fastest load of laundry? Do you have to sort washers, nuts and bots by type and size? Is is really a game of round horseshoes, aka quoits?

It's a game with these wooden boxes with a ring in the middle and you have to stand a little ways away and throw the washers in the box. If you make it in the middle ring, you get three points and if you get it in the outer part of the box, you get a point.
Dangit. Can't get the pic to come in. Follow the washers link. Washers

Okay. So it is kind of like quoits. There is a clay pit instead of a box. A ringer or closest to the pin gets points. But any upside down quoit does not count.
Unfortunately, I can't see the picture, but I understand.

Happy Friday all!! Today was a staff appreciation day at work.....there was donuts, fruit, and coffee/juice this morning, then around noon they had Jimmy John's bring in sandwiches and someone made a great big pot of cheddar potato soup and another person made a big bowl of taco salad. Oh and the boss made a german chocolate cake; I haven't had a piece of that in a long, long time! I had a yummy lunch today!! Don't think I'll be eating much for dinner tonight, ha.
I'm hoping it stays nice tomorrow. I want to wash and wax my car...get it all spiffy clean inside and out.
I went to Riggs' place yesterday and he was running around trying to get everything set up. The cable guy and the furniture people showed up at the same time. He bought a new LCD tv and it looks great! His poor dog is not sure what all is going on. Everything seems to be going well for him!

Yay, it's after 5 on a Friday! And I think something didn't get done at work that was needed for this weekend. Oh well, it's not something I can do anyway, and there's nothing I can do about it now.
In a few minutes we're going to WonderBash. We have a kid's science museum in town, and they're having a fundraiser tonight that we got complimentary tickets to. (We do free mailings and printings for them.) It's going to have local wine and beer and it's adults only. Wine and science, what more do you need?!
I had a blast! It was so much fun! I had lots of wine, and some veggies and fruit and cheese. And some ice cream made with liquid nitrogen! I think we did everything there, including some stop motion animation, making a parachute guy fall from the ceiling, capturing shadows, making balls bounce to the ceiling (2 story building open to the top, by the way), making a drum beat to our heartbeat, making tiny little styrofoam balls move to a frequency, climbing to the ceiling on huge leaves, getting my picture taken at the top of the leaves, making my injured leg hurt in the process but I don't care it was fun, blowing huge bubbles, looking at optical illusions. And drinking lots of wine, did I mention that?

man that sounds like the perfect idea for a wine bar!
