Favorite Snack!

It might be bad for you- onion rings from ? a bannana split from ? or it may be healthy- an apple? a kumquat? What is your favorite snack food?

mine is blue diamond SMOKED almonds. $3 for a tiny tiny can! They've got to be smoked tho. Once I start on these, I can't stop until the can is gone! Been awhile since I had some.....I got $3, I'M GOING TO THE STORE! good bye.

Twizzler's, definitely

Stevie, I've found only one brand of beef jerky I liked at all - Wild Bill's. Everything else is always too sweet, papery or peppery. But Wild Bill's is AWESOME. What do you prefer?

It's between taco dip and cheese and crackers. More often, spreadable cheese and crackers hit the spot!

Aw, Mo!  Nutella rocks!  I love it.  Germans and their hazelnuts.  My mom makes a cake that is made out of ground hazelnuts and then she melts almond bark over the top of it and seals the cake completely with the chocolate.  It is so moist and delicious.  She warns me when she is going to make one, I camp out in the kitchen.

Favorite snack food: Hershey's chocolate bars dipped in peanut butter.  Reese's cups don't even come close.  I also love s'mores.  We have a bonfire and hayride for my son's birthday every year and I do it mainly for the s'mores.

I love plain frozen M&M's, and then not really a snack but Bazooka Bubble Gum.

CP,

You got my mouth watering for some frozen M&M's.  I never had them frozen before, but that DOES sound good.

Does anyone remember, or ever heard, of an M&M type candy called JOTS I think?  They were MUCH better tasting that M&M's, and I'm not sure why, they were the SAME thing, but must have used a different chocolate or a different candy coating.

I GOTTA FIND SOME OF THOSE!

CP's post made me think of them, I haven't had them in probably 20 years.

My mom is the ultimate cook.  She makes a ton of stuff with hazelnuts in it.  She makes a spritz cookie with hazelnuts and then dips the ends in chocolate; a hazelnut cookie that is put on top of what the germans call oblaten (but looks like a holy wafer from communion, if you're catholic) and then has a hazelnut in the middle...I could go on and on.  She makes a lot of really good things.  It's a wonder that I wasn't 300 pounds in high school.  She makes all of them at Christmas time and then hides them so we don't eat all of them before Christmas.  One year she forgot where she hid them all and then found them three months later.  We still ate them.  We're not fools.

Here is another topic pulled from deep within the forum archive! While we were on a favorite EZ recipie kick, also pulled from the depths, I thought this one might be appropriate too for our newer posters!

Pretzel Rods...I could munch on them all day.  My grandma bought them when I was a kid and I remember they looked similar to grandpa's cigars.  So I would run around with one hanging between my lips just like a cigar.  Even now I'll eat em that way.  Kind of like a way to still be connected to them.

Can't do it.  Too many.  Not enough server space.  I just plain love food, and snack foods are a REAL weakness.  Chips, nuts, cheese 'n crackers, bread dipped in olive oil, ice cream, you name it.

I'm getting hungry again!

Stop it!  You know what I mean.  Olive oil (COMMA, as in, BREAKS UP a sentence) ice cream.  You can't dip bread in ice cream.  Now biscotti's are a different story.

I didn't need to push you off that table Sparky.  You we're ready to stumble off!  A drunken feline, never seen that.  I have gotten our older cat high on Flexall 454, however!  Very funny.

JD, I probably should have put this on the recipe page,

take a green jalapeno, cut it in half long ways, holow out the inside, spoon in cream cheese, wrap a piece of bacon around it the throw it on the barbie!  The grill takes just the right amount of hot out of it.

I forgot! If you stab a toothpick thru the center the bacon stays on better.
