Good day all. Busy here, trying to get everything done before I leave on vacation. We had a few tornadoes come through the area last night, but everyone's okay as far as I can tell.

RE: deWnesyad

Hello all. I had a rough night sleeping again. The bank wasn't clearing our returned security deposit and we were worried about checks bouncing. I checked it this morning and conveniently the bank made us overdraft and then cleared the check furious I'm sorry if you made the deposit and it clears the same day as the money coming out it should be a wash. Last night it showed that we made the deposit but they didn't add the funds yet.

That is so shady, Woo. I can't believe that banks get away with that, but they do it all the time.

good morning! the past couple days i've been getting up well rested -- i'm guessing that it probably has something to do with jacob being gone to church camp...

today's tulsa metro weather will be a re-run of yesterday...

hey woo, i'll bet if you call (or go to) your bank and ask them to waive the overdraft charge for the transaction, they will... doesn't hurt to ask anyway...

yes we are all finished. smile They had the check ready on the walkthrough. I'm guessing when he showed the people the day we were cleaning he took a look for himself and saw it was in good shape.

oh hello.smile.gif

its foggy and rainy here. don't mind bad weather when I'm at work tho.
I need to back fold some schematics when I get into work and then insert them in the right order & in the right places of a new rev of a technical supplement. Its one of them things that sounds so easy, but its one of those things I just best do myself so that its done right.

oh last night I discovered an old buddy of mine is bartending some nights at a bar I like to go to in the neighborhood, mainly because the food there is so good. they have the best corn beef in town. the sign says so, and they are not lying. but it was good to see him & catch up a bit. He lives real close too, so we said right about summerfest time we'd get together and head on down.smile.gif

Morning all. When I was trying to get out of bed this morning I had this feeling that it was Friday and could just throw a pair of jeans on and go to work. But alas, it is only Wednesday. Bummer. The weather is a bit rainy/misty this morning. It is due to clear out a bit and then more heavy storms on the drive home. Fun.

well, well, well it seems that a lot of people are playing hooky from work here today. we've been under a ton of pressure absorbing new business & I think a few people collectively snapped.

Howdy.

I'm home with the boy today - sitter had a dr. appointment.

Sorry about your bank charges, Woo. Banks do like their charges. Its how they make up for free checking, free ATMs, free gifts with a new accounts, etc.

The bank my wife was working for before they got bought out actually got in trouble for the way they were processing checks. If they had five of your checks to process at one time, they would process them in order of largest to smallest. That way, if you over drafted with the large check, they could charge you fees for the other small ones as well where if they did the small ones first they would all clear, then only the bigger one would over draft. It really was a dirty way to do it and they got caught doing it and got their wrists slapped. The bank that owns them now process everything in order as it comes in which is the fairest way to do it.

Since my wife works in a bank, I've seen the other side of it too. I've seen her come home mad because she just got yelled at for 20 minutes by a customer for some little thing that was the the customer's own fault. For example, a few days ago, she had a lady come in and throw a livid fit over 20 cents. Yes, 20 cents. This lady had a savings account that you could write checks on, but there was a 20 cent charge for each check. This charge is fully and clearly disclosed up front when that account is opened. This lady wrote a check on the account, saw the charge on the statement and demanded a refund. She threatened to take her business elsewhere (everyone in the bank wishes she would) and demanded a refund and demanded to speak to the manager. The manager explained that there is indeed a 20 cent charge for checks on that account, told her that this was a one time refund, and gave the lady her 20 cents back. She then acted all like "thats right, you people are not going to treat ME this way" and left. no.gif

It went well . . . he played very well. smile.gif

He hit and got on base every time at bat and he fielded well too. He made a couple outs all by himself which he thought was pretty big time too.

Good morning everyone.  I have to pick up my youngest girl from school in half an hour then we're going shopping for a birthday present for my oldest girl.  I see Bath & Body has shower gels on sale for $3 each; looks like she'll get a couple bottles of her favorite scents. Then I'm heading to the mall; she mentioned that Hot Topic has some new t-shirts with some of her fave bands' logos on them, so I'll pick up one of those too.  Her birthday isn't until Tuesday; can't believe she's going to be 19.  Jeez, they need to stop having birthdays.....they make me feel so old.

It's cloudy here today, looks like it might rain later.  Weather says 90s heading our way by Friday.  Storm weather coming too.  hmm

Wow, even putting aside the fact she was wrong to begin with.  This is one of those situations where a SANE person would say it's not worth the gas, nor my time, nor the damage to my blood pressure, to go to the bank and argue over TWENTY CENTS!!!!!

Hi everyone....

Woo, don't let others who are around you to control your happiness with their actions or words. I realize that the banks suck w/ their fees etc, and it's annoying but dont' let it ruin your day.

DS Bath and Body works.... my favorite store, however I don't buy from there, cuz it's too much $$$ But I love the gifts I get... :)

Web, glad your son is enjoying baseball...... wish I was young again.

Off to lunch

Until I got to your reply, Web, I was gonna tell Woo the same thing. I had an account at that bank. They had a class action lawsuit against them because of it. I didn't take part because I didn't have any overdrafts.

Darlene and DS, Bath and Body works is having a huge sale and it ends today! I don't know if you know this already. They have their shower gels and stuff 6 for $20! I'm ordering online today. I buy about 6 months of it at a time and then when they have it again after Christmas, I buy another 6 months, and so on, and so on......I love that store. smile.gif They are my enablers. I have this really weird thing about scents. My bath soap, perfume, and lotion all have to match. My laundry detergent and fabric softener have to match. I think it's a mild form of OCD. Oy.
