I was watching the news last night and the local electric company petitioned whatever the board is that governs it to raise their rates, citing the drought conditions as the reason.

THEY WERE DENIED!!!!  They were told drought conditions should be considered part of their normal operating expenses and not passed along to the consumer!!!

We Energies in Wisconsin petitions for increases EVERY SINGLE YEAR and gets EVERY SINGLE ONE that they ask for!  Usually because they claim they need it to build more power plants (though I have yet to actually hear of one being built).

This news story just made me want to jump for joy!

they probably just wanted to grow and buy more corn for the gerbils they use on the treadmills to generate the killowatts for NC. no.gif
