Manic Monday 6/9/08

Well I don't know about the rest of you but it sure was an interesting weekend. The storms that came through here- WOW! Friday we went to Applebees and then decided to go to the store. While we were in the store a storm hit and it was torrential! We didn't park that far away from the store but we were drenched just from the mad dash! The shoes I had on were partially opened shoes and they were all squishy- lol

Saturday we spent most of our time at home unloading boxes but we had another storm that went way late into the evening/morning.

Sunday we had a graduation party to attend. We stopped at the girl's house first and picked up some raffle tickets and then went to the party. It has just been so hot and humid that I was really uncomfortable. We decided it was time to go home and looked up at the sky and said we better go before the storm hits. We got inside and it was here- BLAM! There really was no warning. Scary stuff man! Rain, wind, power outage! My sister was on a boat at the time and swore that a tornado ran through but I think the weather people say that there wasn't one. We let it settle some and went home. We only dealt with one street light being out but several emergency vehicles were on the road. We had power. We got phone calls all night asking if we had power and hearing who didn't. The boss even was considering closing us for today as the next batch of storms are headed this way. But we are open. hmm So we shall see if we make it all day. High heat and if the storms do hit, I can't imagine the computer system staying up long with all the strain on power already.
I hope everyone else is ok. There is power outages all around us, we just happen to have power.

Happy Monday.

I saw stats here that we normally get 3.5" of rain in the month of May. This year, we got 9.5".

I bought some music off Amazon this weekend. I wondered what the Pepsi points thing for free music was about so I did some looking. I have a new 12 pack of Cherry Diet Pepsi here so when I put them in the fridge, I looked for the codes inside the box. I dug in my trash bin and found three more 12 pack boxes and got the codes off them too. I went to the Pepsi site and entered the codes and I now have credit for two free downloads . . . a whole $1.98 in credit!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend during these storms. I was at a kid bday party when the scary sirens went off noting a possible tornado. Five tornados hit down but luckily not too close to where we were at.

Rock on this Monday!

Morning all. All this wacky weather and we didn't get a thing. We simply had the heat and humidity, not one drop of rain. Going to be hot and humid all week here, so I can imagine most of you already have the same thing.

It has been one of those Mondays. Run a report in the accounting system, try to run another and it just gets hung up. Tried it twice then gave the computer a reboot and didn't multitask while I was running it a third time. Must crunch more numbers.

Remember to keep hydrated, even if we are all inside all day.

We had a storm come through Friday evening right at quitting time. Saturday, no storms, but windy. Sunday was also a nice day until very late at night lots of lightning early this morning. Still raining

I actually did stuff this weekend Saturday I met Maranda downtown for the Route 66 Blowout where she entered some items in the art show -- she placed third with one of her photographs (yay!). In the afternoon I went to a baby shower for the daughter of a friend -- the baby is a girl and will be named Timber Carli (different). Back to town to pick up Jacob from his trip to Falls Creek (church youth camp). Sunday, morning I worked a few hours, then took some of Marandas art for submission in Momentum Tulsa -- another art show. (downtown Tulsa is scary). This show juried; I hope at least one piece makes the show! Tulsa is a bit uptight compared to OKC, and her pieces are either abstract or controversial (or both). Later, in the evening I went to the parent / child prayer service at the youth center to hear how Falls Creek went for the kids. Nice presentation.

Whew! Im wore out!

Argh! Morning all. I'm feelin'awful grumpy today.

My inability to sleep at night is just getting worse. Even though I hardly slept at all the night before I was unable to fall asleep until 7 am this morning. I thought about just staying up because I felt so awake, but I didn't. I slept for an hour and at 8 am got up to take the dog out. Of course then I was insanely tired so I went back to bed and just got up at 1. :(

Now that I slept so late today I'm sure Ill have trouble getting to sleep tonight again. It's a vicious circle.

Hopefully everyone else is having a better Monday smile.gif
