I didn't take my laptop on vacation, and I totally went through internet withdrawal. So I started to look at PDA options.
It looks like $200+ for a PDA that is wifi enabled.
I don't want an iPhone or Blackberry, because I don't want to have a monthly cell phone bill. I don't use my cell phone that much. But I couldn't find a prepaid phone that I could connect to the internet to (the phoen can connect, but I couldn't find any prepaid data plans).
Then I thought about a Skype phone, but you can't browse the internet from them.
But while I was on the Skype website, they mentioned that you can use Skype with a PSP 2000 and PSP headphones. I checked into it, and it does appear you can browse the internet at any wifi spot with a PSP. A PSP and headphones at full retail price are $190. And of course, you can play games, watch movies, and listen to MP3s. (This also means I could listen to FFR anywhere there's wifi.)
So, what's the catch? Does anyone have a PSP, does this all really work?
I anticipated the keyboard issue, I can work around that.
There is a separate memory card that's $55 retail, I wonder if that would help with browsing the internet. I wish there was a way I could try one out before I buy it.
