Oh I can't even think about looking in that bag! I can't handle looking at the last chance pet section at Pet Smart! I always end up crying because I can't bring them ALL home with me!

Hm, I wonder if that's a local thing for your Pet Smart. I don't think ours is last chance. But then, I don't want to think about it. Whenever I leave, I think, "That cat is so cute, someone has GOT to adopt it!"

HICKORY - Three days have passed since a man driving a Cadillac dropped a bag of kittens into traffic on U.S. 321, sending outrage through the community.
Nikki Bradshaw, who saw what happened and stopped to help, adopted the surviving kitten. She said the kitten is coming out of its shell and adapting to its new environment.
The kitten was in a burlap sack when it was tossed out of a moving black Escalade into traffic Friday. Four cars ran over the bag before Bradshaw, who saw the man drop the bag from the car, was able to get to it. Three of the kittens were dead when Bradshaw got to the bag.
Bradshaw said she decided to keep the surviving kitten, who needed a good home.
The first day we had her, she slept the whole time, she said. Today, shes moving a little bit, and now shes finally eating a little. She didnt eat at all the first few days.
Bradshaw said the 5-week-old kitten is still recovering from the experience of being thrown from a moving car. Although she didnt have any broken bones, Bradshaw said shes still injured.
She has some bruising and is tender in some spots. If you pick her up a certain way, shell meow and let you know it hurts, she said.
However, the kitten is feeling well enough to explore its new surroundings. Bradshaw has a few other pets, and said they are curious about the new addition.
She and my Husky are fascinated with each other, Bradshaw said. And my daughter has a parakeet. It will fly to the floor, and shell hide behind our other cat.
People are offering to support Bradshaw, said Dianna Deitz, the animal services manager with the Humane Society of Catawba County.
Weve had several calls about it. People are very angry that someone would do that to those cats, she said. Weve also had some people come by and make some donations.
Bradshaw said a man has given her a donation, as well. He gave her cat food and cat treats to feed the new kitten once he heard what happened.
The man who dropped the cats onto the highway is still at large. He was driving a black Cadillac Escalade in pristine condition with chrome wheels. The driver was a white male in his 50s with whitish hair, slightly heavy-set, has a double chin and was wearing a white undershirt. Animal dropoffs can be prevented: Spay, neuter pets
Dianna Deitz, the animal services manger with the Humane Society of Catawba County, said the number of animals who are dropped off at the Humane Society usually rises during the summer months because its puppy and kitten season.
This is the time of year when animals that havent been spayed or neutered are typically giving birth, and people who cant afford to keep the litters and cant find homes for them give the animals to the Humane Society.
Deitz said this year, the number of animals that have been dropped off hasnt been any higher than last year.
To avoid having to get rid of puppies and kittens you cant afford to take care of, the Humane Society urges pet owners to have their animals spayed and neutered.
The Humane Society has performed more than 3,000 spays and neuters at its SNIP Regional Spay Neuter Clinic since moving into its new facility in December. Pets can have their surgery and go home the same day, Deitz said.
Thanks Mz....How sad. The guy was driving a Cadillac Escalade....I think he could have afforded to take care of the cats till a home was found....his cruelty was just out and out laziness. Eventually some one will turn him in. He should have a nice reception once he gets to jail.
I haven't watched either of the videos in this thread, but I can pretty much gather what they're about. It still just really boggles my mind how inhumane, mean, and abusive so many people are......I don't understand these kind of people at all. I know we're not supposed to judge others, but I firmly believe in an eye for an eye.....whatever mean, nasty, hurtful, killing thing you did, you should die by the same method or have the exact same thing done to you!!!

Yeah, that's kind of my theme in my replies about these.
