Silly question

I know it's silly, but I'm curious.

When you guys come to the forum and there's a bunch of posts, in what order do you read em?

I go from the top on down usually, unless I'm hangin out in a particular thread. then when done with that thread, go back to the top.

no surprise there. I'm a crazy person! laughing.gif
The only order I have is that I start with the current daily thread.

See, this is why I asked.

I thought EVERYONE must read em' the way I do, it just makes sense.

After four votes, NO ONE reads em' the way I do.

It just goes to show you, like Roseanne Rosannadanna would say, you just never know. If it's not one thing it's another. One mans idea of logic is another mans idea of chaos.

Did you ever go to the gym and see someone with a liiiiiiiiittle, teeeeeeeny, tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny bead of sweat hanging at the tip of their nose? And the more they move around the more it sways and sways and sways, but it just won't fall off? What's with that bead of sweat? Why won't it fall off!?! Sometimes don't ya wanna just flick the person's nose and knock that sweat right off of there?!?!

It depends. Usually I read the oldest post first and work my way up. I guess it's kind of like eating the cereal before the marshmallows in the bowl of Lucky Charms.

But if I've been away from the forum for a while (as in more than a few hours), I'll read the newest first and work my way down. I think I figure I'd rather read what's important first in case I have to leave the other stuff for later if I run out of time.

I have read them most of the ways asked. Like Woo, the first one I hit is the daily thread. Other than that I start down towards the bottom and read up, but usually just what sounds interesting.

This is no shocker though, after all I am a bit crazy and all mixed up.

Newest & work my way down, until I see it's not "New."

Exception is if there's something I've been anxious to see someone respond to. I might go out of order in that case.

Doesn't mean I read every post, either. If I see it's in regards to a sports team or something, I'll just skip it altogether.

I usually scan over the "new" thread titles then skip around to the threads that I was involved in first.

That way, if I need to answer a reply or something I can do that before getting distracted with work or some silly thing like that. Then, I check out the rest of the threads as they look interesting. If I see its just a thread about some rockstar or something, I'll just skip it altogether.

See, this is just one more example of how I can be too anal retentive.

I HAVE to start from the earliest conversation first (the bottom) and I MUST turn those red dots into grey ones.

It drives me nuts to have a red dot on the first page.  Even if I'm not going to read the thread, I have to atleast click on it so the dot changes color.

I really with they'd give us a "mark all as read" option.

I'm with you there.  Even if I know nothing in the thread interests me, I have to click on it just to get rid of the "new".  Even the posts that are mine, I just click on it again so it no longer shows up as new.  And then I get home and check the forum, and everything is new again because I'm at a different computer.

I also agree, whether I'm reading from old to new or vice versa, I've got to go in order.

See, so you're not the only anal one.

It is probably a good thing that Sparky, Dylan and Web aren't here right now because you know they would be talking about Uranus.

I start at the top with the newest and work my way down.  The only thread I always skip is count it down, mainly because I never post in it.

It's pointless, that's the point.  Conversations do go on in it, but they're different, shorter.  It's like posting without a commitment.
