Yay, it's Sunday. Not really Yay though.

Sunday has become my official "clean the house" day. And now, after last weeks computer crash it's also become the official "back up all my computer crap" day.

At least I'll get to watch the Brewers whip up on the Twinkies today. I got that goin' for me clap.gif

E'body have a great day!

Good day all. At 5:49 I had been asleep for about half an hour.

We had another impromptu Neighborhood Watch meeting last night. Our Neighborhood Watch consists of a group of us going out and consuming alcohol. Except I ended up being the designated driver. I'm probably the only one that's up, so I went to Starbucks. I love having a laptop.

I didn't sleep real restful. I kept tossing. We went out to breakfast at The French Laundry since we had been holding on to this gift card forever. Don't think we will be going there too much. Pricey and my husband kinda likes his food plain jane. There were stuff on the menu we didn't even know what it was- lol
I'd like to go back for a coffee or tea drink and maybe a bagel.

Hubby decided to clean the fishtanks today so I am holding off on doing the rest of the laundry. We threw a roast with some potatoes, mushrooms and carrots in the crockpot for dinner. Already smelling good.

Kinda sad now. I had to say goodbye to my best female friend today. Her husband got a job as a State Farm Insurance agent in Northwest Iowa (8 hrs from here). They are packing up and moving this week. They still have family here so they will be back a few times a year, but I will miss her. cry.gif

Ugh, we did not play well today. I just listened to the recording and I certainly will NOT be saving it this week. Next week HAS to be better.

My wife is sad too - her week of vacation is over and she's gotta go back tomorrow.

the weather here has been quite odd. sunny with torrential rain storms. at one point it was raining out front and sunny out back.

I forgot to mention that at the Rush show on Friday night, there was a rainbow over the lake. that was pretty cool.

tonight for dinner, we shall be making scallop shish-kebobs. I am excited. I was going to grill these outside, but due to the weird weather, it looks like its gonna be george forman grillin.
it will be scallops, water chestnuts, baby corn and cherry tomatoes marinated in shezwan sauce, and served on a bed of jasmine rice.lick.gif

The dinner was fan-freakin-tastic!

it continues to be an odd weather day here. It has fluxated between 80 and 65 degrees on and off all day. Its like a warm and cold front clashing, but without the real real bad torrential storms of yesterday.

also today, I was able to find 2 packs of 50 wat energy saver bulbs for 99 cents. They are to last 7 yrs, and are soft white 60 watts. they use only 13 watts and supposedly will save $74 in energy costs. So I stocked up with 2 packages. If each bulb lasts 7 yrs, and I use the next bulb in line to replace the one after 7 years, I supposedly have bought 28 yrs worth of light for $1.98.

Happy Sunday everybody!!  Just got back from my dad's cabin.....had been up there since Wednesday evening.  Hot as hell on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with thunderstorms and high winds each day.  Last night a big storm came through....temperature dropped 30 degrees in half an hour; spawned a tornado just down the road from my dad's.....that was pretty scary!!!  Anyway, we didn't see the bears that have been hanging around his place.....kinda bummed about that because I was really hoping they'd be around.

So now I'm home and ready to rock out for a while tonight.  smile

Went out to see Get Smart at Mayfair tonight.. I thought it was funny, despite the reviews. Also FINALLY stopped at that Auntie Annie's for the first time. I always would walk past and see a pretzel dog and a line and keep going.. tonight? No line. So you bet I got a pretzel dog.. and a lemonade. I also really wanted to watch the movie Twister this weekend, so I'm hoping to squeeze that in tonight if I can find it.. or I'll likely catch up on what's on the Tivo.

By the way, here's a funfact for people in the Milwaukee area who like to venture over to Mayfair... You can take food from the food court into the movie theater. For some odd reason I took Taco Bell in there once. It was a bad idea for the following reasons:
a) the crunchy tacos annoyed the people next to me.
b) messy

But still, saved a bunch of cash by not forking out $5 for a soda and such!

I was really in the mood for a laugh and it delivered.
I found out about the food thing by pushing the envelope and seeing how far I could get. First I came in with an Orange Julius. No one said anything.. Next time I came in with an order of cinnamon twists from Taco Bell. Again, nothing.. so that's when it clicked. Brought in a Cinnabon, no one said anything. Then came Taco Bell, a slice of pizza, some bourbon chicken from Big Easy, a bag from Arby's... As you can see, I have a problem.

Having to cut back to fast food once a month has been extremely hard for me!

but I agree $-wise much better bang for your food dollar than $9 popcorn and junior wee sized sprite....

Sick thing is that with all the fast food I ate, I wasn't overweight.. but I had some unrelated health problems.. my heart decided to get weird this year. That and the acid reflux.. I've managed to cut out all the things in life that I love. I guess it's a good thing, but I miss it. I've lost weight without much exercising, so that's neat. My stomach thanks me for my decision and who knows whats wrong with my heart, hopefully it fixes itself soon..

gosh, of course I hope the upswing of that will be a continued and maintained health. We all gots to give that crap food up eventually, you just had a head-start. I wish I still knew the vegans I knew years ago. they could find joy in lentils.
