Anyone Planning To Watch VH1 Honors The Who Tonight?

I can't wait for this to come on tonight!!  I've been pumped about it ever since I heard that The Who, and only The Who, will be honored.  clap.gifclap.gif  Pearl Jam, The Flaming Lips, Foo Fighters, Incubus, and Tenacious D are scheduled to play, along with The Who.

Anyone else planning to watch this tonight?  biggrin

I won't be home tonight, but I planned to DVR it and watch it sometime over the weekend. I think it should be really good.

I don't even have network stations.  The only channel I can get in is PBS.

I'm not going to pay for something I don't use. Usually, I'd rather be on the internet, reading a book, playing a video game, or watching a movie before I'll watch regular tv.

I thought it was great!  Roger still looks and sounds amazing while Pete is still awesome on the guitar.  For me, the highlight of the entire show was their closing song.....I don't know what the song title is, but it spoke of one being gone, one gone mad, the good times they had, and how it's all so sad, asking to have tea with him in the theater.  Pete was on acoustic guitar playing a very haunting melody.  I thought it was a very fitting song to end their show with.

Foo Fighters opened the show with a very energetic playing of "Young Man Blues"....they were excellent on this song!!  Flaming Lips performed Tommy...it was ok, but not a great performance in my opinion.  Incubus did "I can see for miles", and "Can't Explain".....another great energetic performance from these guys.   Tenacious D (Jack Black) performed "Squeeze Box"......great song for him to do!  Pearl Jam performed "Reign Over Me" and "The Real Me"......both were awesome performances!!  And Adam Sandler intro'd The Who by re-wording "Magic Bus".....you had to see it to know how great of a job he did.

I love The Who, and I wasn't disappointed with the show.  They're still a powerhouse to be reckoned with in my humble opinion!!!  biggrin

Nevermind, it was all a dream I had last night, right up until my boss was taking away the cigarettes I haven't smoked in 12 years!

It's called "Tea & Theatre" and they ended their show with it when I saw them, too.  It was a beautiful moment.

I'll say it again, "Endless Wire" is a good album, and you should check it out!

Thanks so much for supplying the song title, LS!!  I thought it was a beautiful song, so poignant and meaningful.

I'll have to look for the new album.  Thanks for the recommendation!!!  smile
