Hot isn't the word for Florida! We have our company outing today....Goin to Cypress gardens (Florida's 1st Theme Park" for those of you that haven't been.....gonna be about 95, and humid!

It's currently a muggy 74 heading to I think 92. My ac in my car is working sporadically. I'm glad it works some. A business friend of my husband's said he could recharge it for $50 but we would have to drop it off as it is a bit away.

I woke up with a pinch in my L shoulder which is causing me pain all the way down the outside of my arm. I have no idea how I did thid. cry TGIF!

Good Morning everyone, it's a nice rainy day here, I think I have only watered my lawn 4 times this summer and it's still green! This time last year it was fighting to stay alive. Looks like it should be another good day in the market which means fewer phone calls and ='s more play time.

Mornin'.

Its 60 now with a high of 80 and chance of rain. Should be a nice day.

I'm trying to decide if I'm going to go to an auction this morning. A local artist is moving and having a household auction. She used to be an art teacher here when my wife and I both were in school. In with the rest of her stuff, she's selling some of her paintings. My wife mentioned that she'd love to have one of this lady's paintings. I may go see what she is selling and see if I could get one of them. The auction starts at 10:00. I just hate auctions though. You go stand around for four hours waiting for something to sell and then it goes for more than you want to spend, etc.

Let's see, other than that, my goal for the day will be to keep my head down, my thoughts to myself, stay out of everyone's way, and try not to make anyone mad.

Web if you go to the auction and find something you want, go up to the woman and say "My wife would enjoy this artwork that you created. Would you accept (insert $ amount here) instead of my waiting through the auction and possibly missing out on theis piece?"

Oh yeah, and buy me something nice.

I won a dozen roses from a local radio station this morning! They're supposed to call to let me know how to pick them up, but I haven't heard from them yet. But still, I actually won something! And roses are my favorite!

today is hawian shirt day at work. Alas I don't have one, I don't do those, so I am not participating.

In an hour and 15 minutes we have a 2 hour departmental lunch meeting too. thats gonna suck, well except for the lunch part.

I went to the auction. I'm back.

There is a BUNCH of stuff to get through before they get to the paintings. But, I know the lady that is running the clerk's desk and I told her that I was only interested in possibly getting one of the paintings and asked if she could be so awesome as to give me a call when it looked like they were working their way close to them. She said she'd be happy to do that. smile.gif

She didn't have as many paintings for sale as I had imagined. Most of them were big flower paintings. There is one that is a country scene with an old broken down saw mill in it. I also noticed that she painted it in '84 which is the year we graduated (she was the art teacher) so I may go back and try to get that one.

That sounds nice Web. A neat memory of ending an old chapter and starting a new chapter of your lives. And it would almost be an antique (I think antiques are 25 year old objects).

Maybe it would be a nice reunion gift. It is an anniversay of sorts. If you are able to get the painting, hide it for a year (just don't lose it or forget where you hid it) and then surprise her.

I got a painting. When they got ready to sell, I found out the one I wanted was only a print of one of her originals so I didn't bid on that one. They were selling choice. I had my eye on my next favorite one and I waited about 1/2 way through before bidding. I won and got my second choice.

The best part is when Mrs Web came home, she saw it and said "what's that?". Then she looked at the signature and was really happy.

Yay me!
