...that I partly agree with the man on ESPN last night. He said, "the Cubs are good but the Brewers are not this bad." I was surprised to see that game last night. I thought maybe it would be the Mets-Marlins game. It seemed that the Brewers were making little mistakes or even mental mistakes that cost them the game. I saw about half of the game. Don't be too depressed.
Would today be an afternoon game? If so, I think I will keep an eye on it through Gamecast. The Phillies don't play until 7.
The Phillies held on last night to win 8-5. They need to stay rolling along so they may attack the Cards this weekend.
Baseball on.

Thanks Fuzzy. I hope you guys can tear the Cubs apart this weekend. I didn't know you played em. I guess that means we'll be playing East coast teams too.
We have looked awful this entire series. Truth is we were pretty bad in St. Louis too, even though we swept em'.
When you make constant fundamental mistakes and you hit .046 with runners in scoring position over the course of 60 at bats, you clearly aren't playing well.
I still say this all falls on Yost. He coddles these players and tries to be their friends. No one is ever held accountable and expected to perform like a major leaguer. As a result, anytime there's any hint of pressure we fold like a deck of cards.
Todays game is at 2 PM eastern. We go against Harden
I'm glad your guys are taking care of business like they should against the Nationals. You gotta beat those types of teams.
One thing the crew supposedly has in it's favor is that in August we play only 2 games against a team with a winning record. Then again, we play 17 of 27 on the road
You seem to have a Cubs problem lately. Maybe you are a closet Cubs fan? You keep bringing them up. One day last week you accidentially rooted for them. And then promptly cut your fingers off when I brought it up. We are playing the Cardinals this weekend.
Take a look at the Red Sox. They had a tough few games against the Angels too.
Harden may prove tough against the Brewers today. But hey, that is why they play the game.
You are right though, I didn't think the Brewers looked good in the Cardinals series. They got some lucky and timely hits. I can easily see how they should have lost two, if not three, to the Cards. I know, be mad at me if you must.

Although, the guy on ESPN last night also said the remainder of the schedule favors the Brewers. The Cubs have a tougher schedule. Something about playing teams over .500. I don't care what records are when you are playing a team in the division. Anything is possible.

By the way, did you read the latest Farve nonsense? A report says that they floated an offer of $20m to stay retired, payable over 10 years. I don't know about you, but after all the trouble he has caused, sitting on my azz and collecting basically a $2m a year pension would be great.

Wow, I DO have Cubs on the brain. I could SWEAR you said Cubs, and I read it TWICE. I just HATE THEM SO MUCH
I'm not mad at you for saying the Cards could easily have won 2 or 3 in that series. I've been saying the same thing. You can't count on a last inning home run to win games for you, we did it three times in four games.
It looks good on ESPN, but it covers up the real problem that you were consistently losing going into the last inning.
As for Favre, I'm actually on his side. I've never liked Thomspon and felt he was trying to get Favre to leave the last three years. In my mind Favres only mistake has been one that countless great players like Reggie White and Michael Jordon have made, which is to retire too soon and then come back.
The way the Packers have treated the franchises best player ever, particularly following a season in which he was in the running for MVP shocks me. (Not really in the running, but if not for Brady/Moss he probably would have won it).
The Packers have lied and talked out of both sides of their mouth this entire time. The whole week they've been saying "If Brett comes to camp he'll be welcome with open arms, he's been a big part of our past and he'd be a part of our future", then they send Mark Murphy to Mississippi to try and bribe the guy with $20 million bucks to stay retired. If they thought that was going to work they have no understanding of Brett Favre. He has all the money he needs. He want's to play.
Now there's talk they are so frustrated that he may show up tomorrow for camp that a trade to Minnesota or Chicago is being considered.
If that happens I will not watch another minute of Green Bay football until Ted Thompson is fired. And I mean it.
If you're going to do that then release it and at least let it be Favres decision to go to one of those hated rivals. If you're stupid enough to trade him there then I want nothing to do with your team.
Rodgers has played in parts of seven games. In two of them he had injuries (broken ankle, broken ribs). There is NO logical reason not to let Favre come in and compete for the job or be the backup.
Think about this. The Green Bay Packers, the storied franchise, the team that was a throw away from the Superbowl last year and thought they could compete for it this year, go into the season with three quarterbacks that HAVE NOT STARTED A SINGLE GAME!!! NOT ONE!!!
Our three quarterbacks combined have played about 5 quarters of football!
And you can't find room for Brett Favre on your team?
The massive ego of Ted Thomspon is the only thing driving this team right now.
I know they have said the would welcome him, but would they really? We know he wants to play, not be a backup. Could you imagine if he stays with the Packers, has that consective start string and sits the bench as the backup and that is what ends it? I can understand not wanting to outright release him. They want something for him and don't want him in the division (if possible). I would want something for him and wouldn't want him in the division too. But I also think by trading him you are better able to control where he goes.
If it does happen, maybe I can sway you towards a Philadelphia football team. And I don't mean the Soul.
