A post from a Cubs fan on an article in the Journal Sentinal that was simply giving todays lineup:
----
WE ARE SWEEPING YOUR SORRY TEAM RIGHT OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS! JUST LIKE I TOLD YOU HAYSEEDS. IT'S OVER. IT WILL BE YEARS BEFORE YOU ARE IN FIRST PLACE THIS LATE IN THE SEASON AGAIN. THIS WAS YOUR ONE CHANCE. "WE'RE GOING FOR IT?" HA HA HA HA HA
----
Just obnoxious jerks those Cubs fans. And who the heck is he calling a hayseed? It's not like we're from Nebraska or something!
But honestly, Milwaukee and St. Louis fans are a LOT more respectful in the forums than Cubs fans.
This isn't just homerism. It's really true. I just commented on the Cardinal forum a few days ago at what great people they are. We swept them four games and they were still largely respectful and talked baseball, not trash.
Cubs fans are as bad as New York fans, and they're both bottom of the barrell.
Yes, there are ALWAYS exceptions, but I'm speaking in generalities here.
I thought to qualify to be a hayseed you had to be in farming or at least near farming. I didn't think that Milwaukee had much in the way of greenery and farms.

I don't know why people feel they have to be stupid. I can understand the trash talk, on a certain level of course. Usually you are just playing around with friends or the light hearted fans sitting near you at the game. There is no reason to get up in someone's face and act like a jerk. Until your team wins the World Series for five or ten years in a row, no one has the right to speak that way. Silliness I tell you. I can't stand those few stupid people that make the rest of us look bad or ignorant.
Kind of like when Dylan constantly brings up some Eagles fans throwing snowballs at Santa. It was a hundred years ago, I had no involvement and no control over the situation. But it is stupid things like that which build fan reputations.

I usually stay out of sports forums other than to read them (never say anything) because it can get so ugly with people just attacking one another.
And if I'm being honest, the Brewers fans can be bad too, but I really don't think they sink to the level of a few other teams.
But like I said, last week I actually signed up for the Cardinals forum to just post one comment about what great fans they are.
I guess too it would help if the forums had moderators.
Look at our forum, we've got no jerks here. We may disagree now and then, but we really have no jerks. Because the group we've gathered wouldn't put up with one. They'd be warned, and eventually banned if they continued to act up.
I have done the same. If I have read an article, sometimes I will read the blog. If it is too long, going on for pages, I really don't have much of an interest.
