What are the last 3 CD's you bought?

Hey, I thought this might be a fun topic.

What are the last three CD's you purchased and why?  By why I mean are you just a fan of the band, did you hear them on the radio, did you see them on Letterman or Leno, etc.

THAT KILLERS CD IS GREAT! I had a tape made of it and am running out this weekend to get it.

Another good one is the new one by Tommy Stintson, formerly of the Replacements. Rolling Stone magazine called it "shockingly brilliant!"

The last cd I bought however is Rosemary Clooney's Girl Singer (as I am The Jazz Doctor). I had the tape a decade ago, and finally got around to getting the cd. It will be featured on this Sunday's Jazz 101.

I bought it primarily for these lines in Sweet Kentucky Ham, which is a song about being on tour and missing your home: "It's 10 pm, and they're rolling up the streets in Milwaukee. And the only place to eat, is right across the street, so you order a cup of navy bean. And turn through the pages of your magazine.....you got to take what little pleasure you can find, when you got sweet Kentucky ham on your mind...."

O.K.  I'm not a big CD buyer.  I usually just download the songs I want and burn them on my own CD.  Here's the ones I bought recently...

The Doors Greatest Hits for my hubby, who is a huge Doors fan.

Disney Princess Lullabies for my daughter so that she will shut off her television and go to sleep before I fall asleep in the chair at 11 p.m.

Monsters of Rock compilation that had a lot of hair band rock on it.  Before that I bought a copy of Look What the Cat Dragged In by Poison.  Gotta love the hair bands!

I’ve kinda been on a modern punk kick lately. My last three albums were:

1.     Coheed & Cambria’s “In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth:3”,

2.     New Found Glory’s “Catalyst” (A personal friend is in one of their music video’s), &

3.     The Atari’s “So Long, Astoria”

Next on my list of CD’s to buy is Green Day’s “American Idiot”, & I’ve been eyeing that Killer’s CD as well

Wow, it's been years since I bought music. I think the last one I bought was SheDaisy when I first became interested in country. But I've learned that I get so tired of CDs I buy that it's just better to listen on the radio or online. The only CD set I have that I've never grown tired of is the Pink Floyd set... oh, and probably Supertramp.

A good buddy of mine just e-mailed me and said American Idiot is brilliant, and that I should get it. I am not a huge green day fan, but I trust my buddy's judgement when it comes to music.

I just picked up a greatest hits collection by The Specials WHICH WILL BE AWESOME TO HAVE FOR UNGERGROUND 80s!

I was watching Carson Daly a few nights ago and instead of his normal show, he was in an empty studio introducing clips recorded earlier with a full studio & Green Day on stage.  He basically gave them his whole show to air a mini-concert of their album (hmmm, wonder if NBC has a stake in Green Days record label).

He was all excited that he was allowing them to play a full nine minute version of one of their songs (Jesus In Suburbia I beleive), and he said he thought it was the first time in television history someone was allowed to play the full song of that length.

I'm SURE he was wrong, but regardless, they sounded good, and I've never been a big Green Day fan.
