Where's Tuesday?

I found it. But I am unsure how long I will remember where it is.

The weather has been beautiful. I wish I could enjoy it more.

Day two in the office. There may be a battle or two today between some coworkers. Ought to be interesting.

A ton to do for me today.

Crunch on.

I'm in a bad mood today. Really, I have been since yesterday afternoon, and then I got home and it got worse. Now something is bothering me that I can't just let go. One of those things that I went to sleep thinking about and woke up thinking about.

I think I need a me vacation, where I go on vacation alone. I'd love to spend a weekend sitting on the beach. I wish I was closer to the ocean.

Write your problem down and put it in the God Box .... then let Him take care of it. Try to let it go Mz.. I know it's hard.

Good morning you all.

I bought one $20 raffle ticket yesterday at the golf club that I was working at, and I won the grand prize ... A 40" HI-DEF LCD FLAT SCREEN TV.. can you believe it? I think my luck is starting to change for the better and that is the sign ... biggrin.gif

The problem is a hubby problem. I want to let it go, but what's bothering me is if I should confront it.

Morning everyone.  I woke up at 5 to the sound of a power saw buzzing.  The guy next door is doing some interior work on his house, and I guess he wanted to get some work done before he left for his job.  He set up his table saw in his driveway right below my bedroom window.  I think on Saturday morning I'll get up at the crack of dawn and mow my lawn.  Maybe he'll appreciate the lovely sound of a mower as much as I appreciated the sound of his saw.

Mz, good luck with your husband problem.  It's always a tough call trying to decide if you should confront or not.  hmm

Congrats Darlene!

Sorry Mz. Those are always killer.

When I got home last night I basically slept the night away. I had a killer headache that refused to go away without sleep. I first feel asleep on the couch then I decided to go to bed when I woke up at 9pm. It seems that it is gone now. We no longer need to trailer the horse for practice but my husband wants to make an appearance tonight so they can't say we only go when we have to.

Howdy Folks,

Sorry about your stress, Mz.

I've got a few thing weighing on me today too.

I mentioned the porn stuff that was being sent to my cell yesterday . . . well when the guy called, I know the person he asked for. This kid is in high school and I know his parents. His dad works at the lumber yard and his mom works at the convenience store where I get my soda every Sunday morning. Should I mention it to her next time I see her? Would she like to know, or would that just be medaling on my part? I talked to my wife about it and she says, "well, if she tells her son who told her, or if they figure who you are from your cell number, we really don't need a couple high schoolers mad at us and pulling crap on us". She's right about that too.

This weekend, I mentioned to my dad about my mower problems. He said "Oh yeah, the hardware store mechanic . . . he's the one who flipped me off the other day on the highway". My dad said that he pulled out on the highway going the same direction as this guy and he DID NOT pull out in front of this guy. Dad said that he was up to the speed limit when this guy passed him in a no passing zone and flipped my dad off. My dad's like "yeah, whatever, but I will now go to the other hardware store and not this one." So, my question is do I tell the hardware store owner that his employee's off duty antics cause him a good customer? The guy was on his own time so it has nothing to do with work. I consider the hardware store owner a friend. He's a good guy. Would he want to know he lost business because of that?

Last night, I found out that a couple I know from when I lived in Lincoln was killed over the weekend. They are in their early 60's. A transient went into their house and shot them to steal their car. I didn't know then real well, but they were both ham radio operators and I've talked to them on the radio and at club meetings. They also raised and trained boxers (dogs). They lived in Lincoln, but he worked in Omaha (about one hour drive). I always thought it was kind of neat that he would eat breakfast with his wife, then head out to work. As soon as he got in the car, he could call his wife on the radio and she would chat with him to keep him company on his way to work. I listened to them talk every morning. Now they are dead because someone wanted their car.

As I said, I wasn't that close to them. I think what's bugging me is that I did know them and the coldness of this person to be able to kill this nice couple over their car.

Wow Web, that is a lot! The porn and teen thing...if you know the parent's well enough I would tell them. As a parent of a teen I would want to know. I will pray for all involved in that tragedy.

Sandy you must cut your grass very early!

Have a great! Hope your head feels better Woo.

Morning everyone.

On the other hand Web you are right, how well do you know this guy and his friends? Did he dial your phone by mistake? If he's a bad apple I might just let it slip by this once. My Dad had trouble with some teens a few years ago and it was more trouble than it was worth.

I agree about the teen thing Web.  If you know the parents well, yeah I'd mention it to them; if not, I'd let it go unless you still continue to receive that kind of stuff. Teens nowdays aren't above retaliation.  You don't want them messin' with you just because he's ticked off that you "told on him."

I'm sorry for the loss of your friends.  What a terrible tragedy over a stupid car!!  My thoughts and prayers are going out to their family.  cry

I don't know if I'd mention the hardware employee thing to the boss.  It was after working hours so that makes it kind of touchy.  If he should ask you why your dad no longer frequents his business, then I'd let him know.

I don't know the kid's parents really well, more just know who they are and talk to them when I'm in the places where they work. I'm sure the other guy will stop sending me the stuff, he thought he was sending it to their kid. If it was me, I'd want to know. I'd probably take my son's phone away for a couple months. I don't know the parents well enough that they may even be like "Eh, whatever, boys will be boys." I just don't know how they are. I'd want to know. I'll probably stay out of it.

In the age of road rage & drive bys, I'd keep myself out of what should be family business. Yeah, I'd kind of want to know if it were my teen, but I don't think that learning it from a mostly stranger would be the way I'd want to learn about it.

Tuesday.

What can I say about Tuesday.

It's a weekday. It's a weekday following yet ANOTHER Brewers victory. But it's also a weekday following a Packer loss. Of course, the Packer loss was pre-season, so who cares.

Sorry to hear of your troubles MZ & Web.

I'm sorry to hear about your friends. That's terrible! I still find it hard to believe that some people are really that morally unconscious. Did they get the guy? I know it won't bring them back, but at least it's something.

So, what was going on with the porn thing? Was the kid purposely sending it to your phone? Do you have a way to talk to the kid himself? If you talk to the parents without talking to the kid, he'll just get punished by his parents (grounded, phone being taken away, etc.). If you can talk to the kid himself (although it would be a good idea to give the parents a heads up first), it will scare the beejeebus out of him. But maybe I'm misunderstanding what was going on.

The hardware thing is hard. It's a different situation because you're in a town where everyone knows everyone else. At what point is it giving a friend a heads up, and at what point is it gossip?

Yep, I misunderstood the porn thing. Do you know for sure that the other guy was sending it to the kid for enjoyment? We're talking teen boys here, it could have also been a prank. There's too many factors, and since you don't really know the parents that well, I think I'd just let it be. Now, if it were the kid that was sending the porn, that would be different.

I think I would definitely mention the road rage incident to the hardware store owner. Having owned a small business, I know what kind of impact those little things can have. If I were the owner, I'd want to know. It's not that there is a lot that he can do to an employee for that kind of off duty activity, but perhaps he should be aware that there is an issue. It would be a shame if that sort of thing spilled into work hours.

The porn thing wasn't so much just the enjoyment of porn, it was more of a joke. Its hard to describe without being graphic, but in the last one, it looked like a video closeup of a woman's privates that were not in good shape. I didn't let the whole video download before I deleted it, but if the first frame was an indication, it wasn't pretty. The text message that he added to the video was "Did you do this to her?"

I'll likely stay out of that one.

And yes, with the hardware store thing its mostly about being in a small town. Here, the owner needs every customer he can get. Every business in town is that way. I'm even concerned about retaliation from the mechanic guy if the owner told, or if he figured out who told him who it was. Next time I need mechanic work, I'd have to worry about my mower coming back in worse shape than it went in. So, I just don't know what to do.

I was chatting with JR about it too. JR said, that he wouldn't like that part of a small town where you can't do anything without someone likely knowing you. And thats true. Even if someone doesn't know you personally, you're just a couple steps from another who does. "Hey, that guy over there is the one that flipped me off the other day . . . Oh really? I know him, he works at the hardware store".

Like I told JR though, I also think that is what makes people in small towns generally "nicer". There is no such thing as an anonymous action here. I think that makes most people act better in general and is what makes small towns more friendly.

One of my favorite quotes is: There's not much to do in a small town, but what you hear makes up for it.

Ew. Yeah, I'd let the porn thing lie. Again, unless you know the parents of the kid that's sending it.

This is the same mechanic who hasn't gotten around to fixing your mower? Hm, it might be better to let that one go too. It might also look like you mentioning that could be retaliation because you're not happy with the mechanic's work at the moment too.

Yeah, same mechanic.

Oh, I forgot to add . . . yes, they did get the guy who killed the couple. He got scared and tried to kill himself by stabbing himself in the chest . . . but he missed his heart and lived, so he'll get to enjoy a life in prison . . . unless our state decides to help him out with the killing himself part.

I went to pick up my mower. The (flipping off) mechanic said that he tore the carburetor down as far as he could and it still wouldn't run right. So, he ordered a new carburetor for it. hmm.gif

My wife came home for lunch and said her friend/coworker was pretty mad today. She and her husband have been having trouble for a while now. They have been "working on it" to try to stay together. He's not been living at home for a few months now.

This weekend, she did some searching on Match.com and found his profile where he's listed himself as "divorced". She said that in his profile, he's listed every thing he hates to do with her as things he enjoys. She said he has a big thing about how honesty in a relationship is the most important thing, blah, blah, blah.

She has decided its over between them, but she's going to screw him one more time . . . she's creating her own fake profile and purposely putting in things to try to get Match.com to match them together. Then, she's going to ask him on a date and will let him know they are done.

hmm.gif

I don't know, Woo. I wondered that too. Was she purposely looking to see if he was there, or was she just window shopping for herself? I don't know.
