Well you know...this is JD's station, so I guess all the FCC blame will fall on his shoulders for this stunt....though my vocal recognition software did come up with a match to a J***EM* R**GS...but then it crashed before it could completely decipher the voice.

Good thing my 11-month-old twins don't know what 'rectally' means!

Other parents play classical music to their kids, we play them freeze-frame radio....we'll have to do a follow-up study 15 years from now to see how it affected their development....

LOL,

Oops, sorry 'bout that.  We TRY to stay kid-safe

Little known fact:

9 out of 10 pediatricians approve of the use of Freeze-Frame Radio as a sedative for children!

The 10'th one was just being an a**!!!!

If you could get 9 out of 10 doctors to approve of it's use as a laxative, that would really add credibility to your ad!

Awaiting FDA approval.  Keeping our fingers crossed!  Big money to be made in the laxative business!

OK, now look at the topic, & look at what we are discussing. I realize how it got to this point, but you gotta admit a "Monday Treat" about Laxatives sure is funny...We aren't even done with Moday, & I can't wait to see what "Tuesday Surprise" might be...(other than Bingo)

I am missing out.  I have had to have the headphones off for most of the day and have only heard Riggs voice once.  Sigh...if these people would quit bothering me, I could get a lot more slacking done.

'Kay....

Really quite an interesting piece of theatre there.

Um...Yeah...Liked it alot.

Sure didn't overhype it at all, but still a good bit.

There is just one small thing.

You never did say who the voice was supposed to be? I couldn't tell....

unfortunately, I've been finding that in the mixing process we lose some of the nuances of the voice, expecially when it's mixed with music for the bumper.

That was Krusty the Clown, and it's actually an excellent impersonation, but like I said, it losses something after the mix.  I'll need to tweak the cool edit a bit to bring it back to it's right sound.

I love the parts with the "no, no, oh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah".  That gets me laughing every time.

I thought it was a good Krusty!

What other impersonations can you do?

I do Bullwinkle, Hank Hill, Homer, Barney the drunk not the dinosaur, kermit the frog and Elvis.

Hey, that's a pretty impressive list Sparky.

I don't do any impressions, I can barely hold a single fake voice (have you HEARD the dramatic reading I did of "Always"?  As Mo puts it, I had like 5 accents roled into one).

Our friend Matt though does most of the Simpsons, Bill Clinton, and a bunch of other voices.  When I used to work with him he would have me in stitches on Monday because he'd practically replay the previous evenings Simpsons episode in the office.

I knew it was Krusty all you sillies...I was just kidding...infact I can guarantee that I knew it was Krusty & I'm not a total dolt.....look closely at my previous post ....

It was a very good reading & I thought he did very well...I didn't quite bust a gut...but I think I popped one of the cans in my 6 pack abs....

That was actually an old buddy of riggs and mine back from back when we used to work together. When we were recording that yesterday, both Riggs and I had to leave the area because we were laughing so hard. The whole Krusty recording took 10 mins, cuz our bud, MATT, kept on cracking up himself. Good work on the edit, Riggs!

Hey Riggs-

that may be something to consider. If any of the signed up members on the board have the ability to do a "dramatic reading" of a song they like and send an mp3 to the station, maybe we could feature it during the day? It might be something to think about?

Absolutely, if anyone has the capabilities of recording themselves and making an MP3, they are more than welcome to submit dramatic readings of a song.

OMG!  That was Krusty?  O.K.  I'm not so mentally scarred now.  I was thinking it was Oscar the Grouch talking about touching himself.    I was really worried, but I'm o.k. now.    I would love to do a dramatic interp., but I don't have any way to record an mp3.  Dang it!  Still stuck in the 80's as far as technology goes.
