Doesn't sound like a bad idea for these punks....

Graffiti paint-out on south side today
Offenders working off their community service for graffiti crimes will participate in a graffiti paint-out today on the city's south side, where 600 properties have been painted over as part of a court-ordered program, according to Milwaukee police.

Milwaukee officers and District 6 Capt. Don Gaglione as well as Mayor Tom Barrett are expected to attend the paint-out, which is sponsored by police in a partnership with Probation and Parole and the Safe and Sound Community Partners. Block Watch captains also assist during the paint-outs.

In addition to the neighborhood cleanups, Safe and Sound Community Partners assist the offenders on probation and parole to obtain their GED or to find a job.

As part of the project, police distribute flyers in the neighborhoods where they will be doing the cleanup and encourage residents to become involved in their neighborhoods.

That's a great idea!!  Make the taggers clean up their tags!


Our city hired some of our best taggers to paint over all the nasty words and pics other taggers left behind.  They've created some really beautiful work!  And surprisingly, no one has defaced their work.  smile

That's why my city hired our best taggers......they transformed the ugly stuff into works of art.  It really did beautify the area the taggers were targeting.
