Well I am really really upset about it. My husband and his 'friend' never talked about the price. The dog has no papers. But that is supposedly only because they took the dog from a friend of theirs who had papers on the dog, but was not taking care of it. The guy does not know that is his dog. Supposedly!

Anyway he says the dad is worth $1000 and the mom $500, so the puppies will be $400. Well we had already seen in the paper there were AKC registered pups for $200 to 250, so we figured $175 was fair. We do not have an interest in papers or breeding. Well unfortunately he would not take less than $350 and we do not think it is fair.

So I have called some numbers in the paper and we go from there. I know we can get one soon, but this really has broke mine and E's heartcry.gif

Nah. I huff and puff, but I could never get rid of her. She's my girl smile.gif

She's been amazingly well behaved since we got to NC too. Very good about letting me know when she needs to go outside.

You can get Lab pups there for $200???  I paid $300 for mine 5 years ago and now pups are going for $400 to $600 here!!  In fact, any breed of puppy that comes with AKC papers is at least $400.

Have you been by the shelter Ruby? I always feel so good knowing I've saved a puppy. We have a real problem here in TN with the puppy mills. They are constantly finding and shutting down those awful places.

I would love to go to the shelter, but we have had our hearts set on a lab. There were none in the paper this weekend, but we will keep looking. We have some friends who agreed that 350 with no papers is crazy and their lab with papers is about three weeks pregnant. So we will see. One way or anther we will have a lab. But the pictures of E with the dog kill me!

I am going to go and check out a lab puppy tonight. Say a prayer that she comes home with me!

She is a yellow lab, 9 weeks old, with papers. The parents are on site and they only want 250! :)
