laughing.gif  Yeah that part about yellowed veins sounded like something Morrison would write about.

Pretty good stuff though.  smile

well thank ya.
I keep that book around just as a reminder of a time in my life that I felt really creative and connected to fun. If you look up Jesse Glass on google, you will find just really the most wonderful mind-blowing poems, I am sure. He ran this poetry group that was just so fun back in the early 90s. He had the doctorate, but not the pretention of it. I think he went and founded an English department at a college in Japan in 1991 and has been there ever since. I got a call about a decade ago "dude.......please please please can you go down to the archives and dig out my thesis, copy it, and send it to me in Japan? A job depends on it." So I did, he got the job, and as a gift, he and his wife sent me this beautiful paintings of hurons flying past mount fuji. that sucker still hangs here.smile.gif

JD, have you considered getting the creative juices flowing again and doing some more writing?

Wow, the painting he sent you sounds cool.  Japanese art is so beautiful!

You should include more of your poetry during the Jazz show.  Fits in very nicely with the music.  smile

lol actually its something I look forward to once I retire. I have all these wonderful books from college I read for grades, not for pure enjoyment. One day I hope I can!

Heck JD, you can write poetry any time.....a line here, a line there, pretty soon you've got something to work with.

*this coming from someone who can't even come up with something to blog about*  hmm

I think you're right sandy.
I think it really was something where I OWN THIS MOMENT IN LIFE. HERES HOW I SEE IT, UNDERSTAND IT, LIVE IT, DEFINE IT.
but then, like everyone, that energy went into earning money workin fo da man....hmm.gif
but I'm not worried. that creative place is held deep within me, I want it again, its some place I hope to return to again.smile.gif lol it will be a good place to return to, say, as a thing to do when I retire. Its better than, say, vodka and skanks?confused.gifrofl.gifrofl.gifrofl.gif

That's a GREAT idea G-gal!!!  He tells us quite poetically about his sojourns into the glen near his house, so he could use those communing with nature feelings as a place to start!

thats really I guess what I'm trying to do. its just back when I felt really creative, I owned my days. I got up. a class in philosophy, a class in poetry & the rest of the day was mine. the worries were few, off the rat race track, there were peapods to throw into the ramen on a good day, a 40 of OE 800 cost whatever change you could throw at Abduhl. Repeat again tomorrow....smile.gif but just at the lakefront instead of the university courtyard....wink.gif
