I thought it was interesting that the post office would not mail wine. Had to go to the UPS store. If the post office is supposedly dying, do you think they'd consider shipping alcohol?

I liked the ups store, no waiting, and they automatically included upto $100 insurance on the package.

Nah. I am good. Mine has already arrived. They can't prove I did anything wrong. I didn't know you couldn't mail alcohol until the Saturday I went to mail it. Then I wondered what to do. Then I went to the post office near work and mailed it. I couldn't even get the package marked fragile. I told the guy three times and he still didn't do it.

I am just glad it arrived safely.

I come home and sittin' by the front door is a box. I think to myself, what a wonderful world... No that's not it. But thanks Louie for the sentiment. Anyway back to the story...I think to myself, "It's got to be a box with some wine in it." Sure enough it IS!!!!!

I open it and it's called Ruby Lady. I know immediately it's a tie to our own Ruby cause the person that sent it would think that way. (Thanks JD) I can't wait to open it and sample some of Spurgeon Vineyards best!!! But that will have to wait as I'm off to watch the Morgster play soccer. She made varsity this year but she's not starting. She says the coach doesn't like her. I think it's the other way around. She can be a little b****. So I told her to earn the spot in practice. But she says that won't change anything....geeesh! The kid knows everything so there isn't a point in arguing with her. It should make for an interesting season......

Yay! It got there safe and sound! I know it's not your typical preference Mz, but I thought you'd really like it...and there's the novelty that it comes from a Door County winery that JD raved about. biggrin

It's meant to be served chilled, and it's also good for making a wine spritzer, too. Yummy for a summer wine! I hope you like it, Mz!

yea! all them cherry wines were served cool as I recall at the cherry festival wine thang. I think the secret is to store it at room temperature, but then cool it in the fridge for like 20 mins before opening.

Thanks G-Gal! My preference is only that, a preference. If it's wine, I'll drink it! I thought about opening it up Friday night, but we have a friend coming into town then and we're all going out. So maybe Saturday or Sunday during JD's shows.
