This here be Sunday

Slept very little. I'm tending to believe it was my husband's fault. We went to bed about midnight since he had to be up at 4:15am. He went up to work on the blinds at the hunting property. Anyway he couldn't sleep so he kept flopping and disturbing me. He finally gave up and went back out to the living room. I then still could not sleep. After he left I still had problems sleeping. I know I got a few hours in but it was a light sleep. We better sleep good tonight.

I didn't sleep well either again. I couldn't fall asleep until about 3 and was up by 9. BUT, that's six hours, which is better than I've done in awhile. Plus the six hours I ded get was pretty restful, so I guess I can't complain.

I'm expecting today to be pretty boring, but at least there's a Brewer game on! clap.gif

festa mexicana was fun and pretty low key yesterday. then we went to go see the batman movie. it was way good.

today, we have a craving for german food for lunch, maybe harvest some peppers and rosemary from the garden, grill out some dinner, and then the radio shows this evening. which reminds me I need to go get beer.smile.gif

dude I did say I needed to go get beer, and the fact that it was the shows that reminded me I needed to do so only proves that I am still me. smile.gif just better.

Hi everyone!!  Got home from the cabin around 5:00 today and I was no where near ready to come back home; wish I had another 3 months of summer vacation to spend up there.  biggrin

Hope all of you were well this past week.  I have some reading/catching up to do.  smile

I was bummed out today. the restaurant we wanted to go for for german food is closed down recently. It had been there for years! at least since from the early 80s, I understand, if not before then. they weren't doing a bad business either! the quality of the food was way way good the last time we went, at the beginning of summer.

I can't be sure, but I'm guessing the last of the mom and pop kinda places are gonna fold in this nation. well, at least up north here. Heating fuel costs are supposed to jump a projected 39% this year!!?? I am hoping that all the closings I see are businesses who have the forsight to see they woulda gone into the hole bad with that, and got out before they lost their shirts entirely- ones who had forcasted ahead and saw the money wouldn't add up.

thats a shame.

This summer up in the area where my cabin is, 4 different little businesses closed up.   Some people said it's because they just couldn't survive this summer due to lack of "summer people".  I did notice there weren't a lot of people up at the lake like there usually is during the summer; most likely because of the high cost of gas and some may have lost their jobs with all the cuts they've made here in MI.  I've also noticed a whole bunch of cabins in our area have been put up for sale since May. I think they're going to be sitting on those for quite a while.  All those little towns up north are really going to be hurting this winter.  cry

I guess that will be the newest dictionary term added at the end of the year in the newest edition of Websters- "Staycation"- staying the hell put on vacation because its too damned costly to do otherwise...

I know the only way we were able to afford to go as often as we did was because I socked away some of that stimulus check we got back in May.  Without that, we probably wouldn't have made as many trips there as we did.

I can't believe energy costs are expected to increase another 39% this winter!!  Man, the people in my house better get used to wearing a lot of sweatshirts indoors this winter because the old thermostat gets dialed down lower.  cry
