My smiling kite avatar is of a kite I made several years ago. I call him "Chip". After carefully sewing all the seams in this kite, this is why I have to do the machine sewing now.
The kind of kite it is, is a "Rokkaku" (its Japanese). Most everyone just calls them a "Rok". The o is long as in it rhyms with smoke.
I used to use this kite exclusively to lift my camera. Now I also have the "Power Sled" that shares in that duty.
The avatar doesn't give a sense of scale. This is "Chip" -n- me to give an idea of how big he really is.
That's a big kite Web. And you made it yourself?? Way cool!!
Man I haven't flown a kite in a long time! I think next Spring I'm gonna buy myself a kite (not an expensive one though) and when the March winds come whistling through here I'm going kite flying!
VERY COOL Web, you're right, from the avatar you have no idea how big it is. I would have guessed it was maybe 2 or 3 feet tall. Clearly it's much bigger.
Actually today I saw one of those itty bitty cars with a For Sale sign on it. It wasn't a kid's toy car either. I think it was somebody's hobby car they made.
My brother had one the year they started putting the big engines back in 'em. Car hauled butt!!!! He let me drive it when he brought home on leave. Best responding car I ever drove!!!
That's what he said too. He stored his during the winters when he lived in Maine. He put it up for sale when he got divorced....I wanted to buy it, but couldn't come up with the money.
Heck yeah!! You got yourself a deal! I'm meticulous when it comes to my ride looking nice, so I'll hand wash it and wax it.....no scratches from those car wash brushes to mess up the paint.
