Well at least my kids are, so I have to take off. Their school district has cancelled school tomorrow. I am not sure about my job yet, so I might have to burn a vacation dayhmm

I guess the concern is good, but if they are this worried on Hannah, what are they going to do about Ike? Hannah might be a Cat 1 today. Ike is a Cat 4 right now.

the schools are shelters, so there are tons of mobile homes in the area and they have to have a place for those people to go:/

Agreed. Ike looks really bad. I've been keeping an eye on the storms out of general curiosity and concern for my friends who live on the coast. The way they are stacking up is weird.

Well the college is open tomorrow. And JD I had to work Monday anyway... so I get screwed on all counts! Well except that I do have vacation pay- what a vacation though! :(

Since it is barley a cat 1, Hanna seems harmless, I hope. Maybe just rain. Ike needs to tak an ike outta there. Push them right. Push, push, push.

well my stupid job was forced to close at 11. EVERY other school and college on the area had either 2 hours of school or just closed period. So I guess I might have to turn in three hours, but my boss probably will not push it. I am glad that I did not waste the gas to travel the forty mile round trip. A light drizzle now and the wind is picking up. I went to the store to get a few things for dinner. WOW it was like the day before Christmas. The parking lot was completely full! I know we'll be fine, but I wanted some grill cheese and tomatoe soup later and thought I would go before stuff starts to completely shut down. Sounds like about 5 and everything will be closed. Hope Ruby's new fence stays up!

No like I said the wind and rain are just starting. I think landfall is tonight about 30 miles from here, we will be on the west side which is great! I'll keep you posted.

I do Darlene. I LOVE rain and severe weather.

Obviously this far inland it won't be so bad that we'll be boarding stuff up, but I love the heavy rains and wind.

We got 9" of rain in two days when Fay went by us, that was cool.
