Well, last night I watched Alton Brown and GOOD EATS on the Food Network.
He was working with squid. Anybody up for some fried Calamari?
if I don't have to watch you make it, then I'm up for it!
I don't know if I would want to watch me make it!
He showed how to remove the beak (I had no idea a squid has a beak, but apparantly it's the only part of the thing that isn't digestable), and how to remove the quill (creepy), then how to peel the skin off.
It's just not a very appetizing looking creature.
I'll stick with regular fish and shrimp thank you very much!
This weekend I wanted to go to the orchard and pick some apples. But I don't know if the weather is going to cooperate. I am looking forward to baking a homemade apple pie. I'll even throw in the ice cream. Who's in?
I also wanted to get apples because I want to try and make apple dumplings. I have never done it but would like to try it. It's kind of like baking a pie. Fall is the baking season. Although, don't get me wrong. I don't want it to hurry on my account.
