Not starting out to be a great day... or week for that matter.

Moving is dreadful. Work is dreadful, I'm just dreadful.

But on the upside the weather here is beautiful!!

So far I am good, but just a warning, Little A was wide awake at 4:30 and today is AC's day off. She gets cranky when she has to wake up early. Be afraid.....be very afraid. cry.gif

Good morning. smile.gif

I mentioned yesterday that the cover to my tail light was loose. I had come out of the store to find the adhesive had let go and the top was hanging about two or three inches away from the car to expose the light fixtures.

Well. Of course it had to start pouring rain around 1 am and continue until, well actually, it's STILL raining. no.gif Luckily I had kept checking out the window last night and noticed it had loosened a little again so I went out with about a three inch long piece of packing tape and taped the top of the cover to the body of the car. Hopefully that kept it in place and water free overnight.

Now I gotta go get some of that adhesive that Mema mentioned. Stupid cars.

Have a nice day smile.gif

Good morning, all. It's Tuesday... I'm here. Checked my points in last week's football picks. It was worse than I thought. My boss tried to mock me for it, but turns out that I did better than he did. hmm.gif Someday he will learn.

Looks like another Pamboless day. That's just no fun.

today started off at 53 degrees and is supposed to get to a high of 73 degrees. One of them days where it might be good to have a coat in the morning, but then its to warm for it in the afternoon.

I opted to not wear a coat and be a bit chilled this morning, rather than having to carry a coat around with me this afternoon.

gorilla glue is good stuff but I am not so sure I would use it for that....it swells so it might push the light out far enough that it looks funny.

Be very afraid? what did you do Sparky? what are you trying to cover up with my lack of sleep? evileye.gif

Howdy folks.

I just got a call from my wife to talk to me about her friend/coworker.

This is the gal who has been having trouble with her husband that they separated while they were "trying to work it out" when she found the baby monitor taped to the bottom of the dresser, etc. Its over for them for good. Now, they are starting the NASTY fighting.

Today, she said that the landlord called her and told her that she had to be out of the house by October 31st. She was late with the rent last month which was the first time in 10 years that they've been there. She is not sure if its just the landlord, or if the husband has gotten to him and is working with him to push her out so he can have the house. That seems quite likely as the place has a big shop and the husband has A LOT of stuff in there as he's a car guy and works on old cars a lot.

The landlord is claiming its strictly a business decision because he's worried about her keeping up on the utilities (frozen pipes, etc). So my wife offered to loan her enough to prepay 6 months rent so she can have more for utilities and see if he'll do that. If he won't do it, then its a safe bet that its more about the husband than a business decision.

One of the problems for her is that she lives in another town 40 miles from here. So, she has to drive. She'd rather move here now, but she has two girls, 12 and 16 that don't want to change schools. She doesn't want to leave the girls there with him because they are the only family she has (or knows where they are). She's really screwed over this deal if the landlord won't accept the prepaid rent offer.

The husband is not helping her financially AT ALL. He claims he wants whats best for the girls, but his actions don't show that in the slightest.

What a mess for her.

can she still borrow the money but move into a smaller place in the same town so the utilities won't be overwhelming and she won't have to leave her girls?

prayers for her that things work out to her advantage...

She's pretty cool. But then, aren't all the forum members? nod.gif

Unfortunately IT police banned her from playing with us during the day. She still listens and requests though.

We've had that problem before with other songs. I'm not sure what causes it.

My day at work part one:

I get a call from a cell phone with terrible reception and the caller has a thick asian accent. He verifies our address (which makes me consider that this is a telemarketer with a bad line, we've had those before too). Then he says he's coming over because he has something he needs, "typed." With his accent and stilted english, I'm guessing he means either printed or designed.

He calls again and gets my boss, because he can't find us. That's not too unusual, we're kind of hard to find the first time since we're behind a chain link fence with some other businesses and you can't see our sign from the road. She gives him directions. It's obvious from her side of the conversation that he's driving back and forth in front of out lot.

The phone rings again, and I answer it. The guy is lost in our parking lot. (I'll give him half a credit, there are several buildings and we're not in a nice neat line or anything.) I direct him to our building. He asks how he gets in. I tell him to walk in the open door.

He finally finds his way to our office, and somehow I do get stuck with him. He has about 5 double sided sheets of something he had typed up before, a list of some sort, with white outs, mark outs, edits and replacements. He is looking to have it retyped. My rate is $50 an hour, it doesn't matter if I'm just typing something in or designing. He doesn't want to pay $50 an hour.

I asked him what he does with it after it's typed up, and he says that he has it put in a book (the pages look like they were torn out of a spiral bound book). I asked how he gets it bound, and he says the copy shop does it for him. But, the copy shop won't type it up for him. I suggested that sometimes those shops have computers where you can type it in yourself, and he mumbles something that I don't understand.

He tried to get me to do the whole job for $40. Nuh uh, no way. I politely declined.

My day at work, part 2:

We log every job we do in a book. So if we ever get in a mysterious invoice, or a fax without a name, etc., we can tell what it pertains to by looking it up in the book. I usually record my days orders in the book all at once. It must be around the same time of day that a coworker also records hers. She always accuses me of having the book for long periods of time because she always finds it in my office.

Today she's not here. I'm stealing the book for the rest of the day. It's mine, all mine, buhahahaha! Maybe I should lick it...

An update from yesterday's day at work:

She finally found her mouse. Downstairs. Granted, our mice are wireless, but it's still pretty funny.
