Here. I was so tired I didn't even hear the alarm the other 2 times. I am already beveraging. Grabbed one of those green label art Mt Dew's on the way in. We dropped the car off and Tuffy's last night. His guy didn't work yesterday though. We should know soon how bad it will be. He did say that the part in question isn't as expensive as it used to be. So it sounds like this is a common problem? I may be car-less this weekend. Hubby has to go up to the hunting property so I will be stranded. He needs to get my light up so I can work on my cards in between computer time.

I was going to start a thread, but I rambled on so long I wanted to make sure one didn't exist before I posted. Ah, cut and paste.
I usually get confuzzed when it comes to Wednesdays. But the traffic I was in this morning may indicate that it is indeed Wednesday. I don't know about any of you, but it seems that Wednesday is my heaviest traffice day of the week.
It has been one of the days so far. I can't wait to see what the remainder of the day holds. You know when you wake up in the middle of the night and are suddenly awake? I did that around 4am. Then I heard a beeping sound. Paying attention to it, I realized it was the smoke alarm. Mine emits a beep every 15-20 seconds when the battery needs to be changed. If you thought I would get up and do that then, you are crazy. It sounded like it was downstairs so I worried about it less and figured I would get it before I left for work. I didn't know how long it had been going off. So I closed my bedroom door and went back to sleep. Fast forward a couple of hours. I am in the shower, taking a little longer than usual because it was shave day (yes, I know, tmi). Anyway, all the smoke alarms are now going off (nowadays if one goes off, they all go off). I figure, "okay, no big deal, I know why". But I have the windows open, so now the noise is letting anyone and everyone know there is a problem. Not knowing exactly which alarm was the initial problem, I start pulling them down one by one until they stopped going off. Mind you I am dripping wet and only have a towel on. Then you know I only have one battery. So I should just replace all of them. They are only currently two of them still connected. One in the basement and one in one of the back bedrooms. I think I have four now on the floor.
Now I seem to have zipper issues on my pants. It won't stay up. So I rigged it with a rubberband and wrapped it around the button to stay up. Should hold for the day.
I can't win today. Guess I shouldn't buy a lottery ticket for tonight. Or would it actually be the perfect time to buy one?

well hello. I think I'm pretty burnt out. I've got another 2 weeks to go before my vacation time replenishes. I will then have 3 weeks that I can take off. I think right of the bat I might take like a thursday and friday. Not to do anything special, but just to maybe sleep until noon and then spend the days laying around in the fetal position.

morning, y'all! didn't even get my office light turned on when the needy little whiners were at my heels! hopefully they will stay away the rest of the day.
isaac, the 5 yr old, never showed an interest in coloring or drawing. all the time he'd just scribble on the page, and it frustrated me that he didn't give a care... well, last night he took a colored page of a butterfly from his school bag and presented it to me -- "look mom, i colored this for you... do you love it?" it was terriffic, he stayed in the lines; absolutely no scribbling. then i felt guilty because i realized that all the times before he had his glasses, he actually couldn't see what he was working on...

You should fear anything that can bleed for seven days without dying... (as told to Mr. DS on 3-12-10)
I think today is going to be a "why?" day. I have a customer that wants a full color imprint on a CD visor. The supplier recommends printing a background on the full color imprint so it will last longer. The customer doesn't want a background. So now we're at a standoff. I think she should just live with the background, it looks fine.
I have another customer that waited too long to send out her postcard. She wants it mailed by Friday and sent it to me after 5 on Monday. No dice, the postcards take 3 days to print, and at this rate won't be done until Monday, so they'd mail out the next day. She answers back, "Why won't they be done until Monday?" Because that's how long that product takes to print. I really doubt she wants a full explanation of printing processes. And we're not sitting around waiting for her order, we've already got other jobs lined up first that are just as urgent.
Wow, Fuzzy, that was quit the smoke alarm fiasco. I'm kind of surprised someone didn't call the fire department or at least come knocking on your door when all the alarms were going off.
I didn't notice a difference in traffic today, but then we have no traffic problems here. About two more weeks and it will REALLY increase though as harvest begins. We will then have to stay out of the way of the grain trucks.
Not much to add from me.
Oh, my wife's friend is working on renting a house close to where she is now. There is nothing for rent there, but she knows a lady with a house for sale and she called the lady to see if she could rent it. The lady wanted to think about it but may do it.
I love that I can laugh at my boss when she does something dumb (it goes both ways, I'll admit to being an idiot when I do stuff like that).
In this program we use to find promotional products, she marked a product that she wanted a sample of, but wanted to add another item before she sent in the request. She clicked the edit button, and got a message that she'll lose her marked items and asks if she wants to continue, and she clicks okay. Then when she comes back to the screen, her marked item isn't there.
So she came into my office and said, "I had an item marked, then I clicked the button and it said I'd lose the marked items, and when I came back, my item was gone." I covered my eyes and shook my head.
After I showed her how to do what she wanted, she admitted to doing something stupid. She said, "I know it said that, I just didn't believe that it would do it."
I woke up with a pain in my neck again. It's my own fault. I can't sleep unless I bunch the pillow up really tight under my head so my head is raised well above the rest of my body. That can't be good on the neck I suppose. Hopefully it'll pass quickly. It's not as bad as the other day.
Today I've got to run to the store for just a few items and then I want t try bringing in that tail light assembly and fixing it in the house.
Also, I have a letter here from the apartment manager. It tells the tennants to keep their dogs locked in a bedroom when they're not home because between 8:30 AM today and 5 PM Friday they will be entering all apartments to replace AC filters and do routing maintenance on the AC/Heater units.
This really bothers me. I've never in 22 years of living in my own apartment, be it an actual apartment or a duplex, had the management TELL me they'll be coming into my home at their convenience whether I'm home or not. If I happen to sleep until 10 AM I'm not real thrilled that I could be awoken to some guy walking into my apartment.
I remember in the lease I signed I thought it was odd that they had the right to enter the apartment at any time but I guess I never figured it was something they'd use. Live and learn.
Morning all. Yep, it smells like a Wednesday. I was in my typical lack of a rush to get into the office, so traffic for me was fairly light except for one spot on the highway. Looked like there was a fender bender off to the left side, so of course all the rubberneckers were browsing the scene.
It's probably going to be a quiet day around here. Most of the crew is working from home today. Apparently Pambo is staying home sick again... makes for a long, boring week here at Camp Happy.

Sorry Mz. I didn't mean to have my day rub off on anyone. I am hoping it will be a quiet day within the office and I can plow through a pile of work. I have a list to do and the boss said she would be taking a few hours off today. There is a very good chance she won't bother me today and I won't hear from her until tomorrow. In the meantime, I think I will do my work and dump it back on her for review and signatures. Fun. I enjoy leaving her five or ten e-mails with things that are completed or other things she may have asked for.

They do that where we live too. When we had maintenence guys that I liked, I had no problem with it. But now that there's one here that we don't like and we're kind of in a silent cold war with, it makes me uneasy.
Hey there everybody. I'm half moved, and excited and sad at the same time. I'm going to miss Kaisha, Rex and my next door neighbors mostly.
But they are still close by....
I need that Mt. Dew Woo!!!
aw Darling I thought Kaisha and Rex were coming with you?
Kaish and Rex have also got their own 1BR apartment, in Attleboro. I didn't want to stay in Attleboro, so I am moving to *Lincoln Rhode Island.
(*for reason's that the EX is a cop here in Attleboro)
Kaisha's apartment takes pets obviously, has heat, hot water, electricity and cable included in price!! My dad gave her a leather couch, I bought some stuff second hand for her, and she really doesn't have to buy much. All bills included but the food, car expenses, and cell phone she'll need to keep paying..... However, a very good deal, she couldn't pass up!

I'm surprised that from a legal standpoint they even feel it's a good idea.
What's to stop me from saying something went missing while they were here without me present?
Even if they send two maintenance people in at once, there's no way they could prove their employees didn't steal from me.
Although this day has started as one of "those" days, it's going to get better, darnit.
In the meantime... I have a customer that orders the same two pens every year. A Bic Clic Stic that's white with red trim, and a Bic Tri Stic that's yellow with red trim. Last year, they sent both white with a red trim. My customer decided to take them at a discount.
This year when I placed the order, I sent a followup email asking them to be sure the that Tri Stick was yellow.
I just got the Tri Stics. They're white.
And now I can hear my boss on the phone with a customer disputing a charge. The customer called me first, because I handled the quote and the order, but I asked my boss to deal with it because the charge was on the quote. She said she wasn't going to waive the charge to the customer. It's out of my hands now, but it still stresses me out.
