I tried it last night. JR pointed me at Sony's list of artists, I picked an album, entered the code and still got charged.

So, it didn't work for me, but maybe it will work for others.

Sorry...my son got system of a Down's album and was credited $9.99 at chacek out so there was no chargeconfused

I don't know. It does that to me some times.
