I thought I'd take a minute to stop in and say hello from Winchester, Ohio.
Didn't think I'd be here, but GPS decided to take this route for some unknown reason.
I'm tired, I don't feel very well, and I have 460 miles to go. So I'm heading to bed, hoping to get a good nights rest so I can finish up the trip home tomorrow.
Everybody have a great night/day. Talk to you soon!

Enjoy the Turnpike! I think it was almost four years ago, JD turned me on to the Joy Division box set... I was East bound to New Jersey, to check out an old Pontiac. Oooo, scary, Joy division is playing. Yikes!!!

I got really sick on Ohio OJ one time... while driving to DC. Spent the all of Pennsylvania VERY ill. What a nightmare! It made the potholes in the PA turnpike so much less enjoyable.

I slept at Hardy's then, got lost at the OH-PA border, had to double back. By the time the weekend was over... 33 hrs of driving!! I stayed in NJ for less than 1.5 hours!

I think the OH-PA border is the freakin' Twilight Zone. That's where I got the bad OJ. I could swear it was Rod Serling that served it to me. "Mema thought she was taking an innocent drive to her Aunt's house. Little did she know she was about to enter The Twilight Zone"

The only thing worse than the Ohio OJ was the PA turnpike. I got to the toll booth at the end of that little slice of hell and the guy told me $3.75. I told him it wasn't near enough for the emotional trauma I just endured, but I would take it. He just gave me the look and told me I had to pay him. Sad... very sad.

If fear of the gaping craters in the turnpike is all that is keeping her there, I would happily contribute to the plane ticket out. I still have nightmares about it.

You kiddin? It was more like technicolor yawn instead of IBS. It was still a good trip. Just a few horrible hours on the turnpike. Otherwise PA is a lovely state.

Headed to Cincinnati? You know, you could always take 74/46 out of Cincinnati, stay on 46, and end up in Bloomington. Then you'd just have to take 37 to Indy to hop on 65. It would only be an hour detour... (It's only a 3 hour drive from Cincy to either Indy or Bloomington, and it's an hour from Bloomington to Indy.)
Yes, it can be true that we here in PA have some of the worst roads. That is mainly because they are so heavily travelled. If you take a look at where we are in the scheme of the Northeast, there is a reason we are called the Keystone State. There is a lot of tractor trailed activity. I do have to say over the last number of years they have been resurfacing many miles of roads. The turnpike can be a costly way to go. From here to Pittsburgh it is easily over $30 in tolls. Depending on what area you are on the turnpike, it can be very congested. Before I moved, I used to travel it every day. It wasn't that far in mileage, used to cost $2, but it took forever to go from point a to point b.
Oh, and the Phillies rule! The Brew Crew is going down. They are just happy to slide into the playoffs. 3pm game time. Bring it on!
