I was reading in another thread that some of you are getting frustrated with the difficulty in obtaining the bingo numbers, particularly with me not being able to routinely be in the studio during the day.
I understand your frustration, however I must say that pre-recording the numbers is easier said than done and most likely is not going to happen.
I am reconsidering my stance against posting the numbers in the forum, or on another part of the site. But the decision to do something must be made carefully.
There are people who have just signed up for the forum only to be eligible for bingo, and then we never hear from them again. That's fine, some people are too busy with that ugly stuff they call work to take part in the forum, I have no problem with that. But if I'm going to continue to lay down my hard earned cash to supply prizes I do not want non-listeners walking away with them, and therein lies the problem.
If the numbers are posted on the site, it would be easy for someone to win the prize without ever listening to the station. Simply checking once per day to see what the new numbers are.
I know that people like Mo, Sparky, Trish, Somechick, and many of the other posters are regular listeners, and I HATE to see you guys miss numbers, but I'm not sure how to handle the situation.
Any suggestions? I'm trying my best to AT LEAST repeat all the numbers around 3 PM, so that you know if you're listening from 2:30 - 3:30 you're going to have your shot at getting the numbers. But when it comes to posting them I'm just not sure how to go about it.
I agree, you don't want to post them because then it would defeat the purpose of having the game and trying to get more listeners on a regular basis. I think the jist of the pre recorded numbers suggestion was so you wouldn't have to be in the studio for us to have to get the numbers. Because of the request system setup, I am not even sure that its feasible. I still love the station and will continue listening even when BINGO is over with.
I agree...while it would be easier to get the numbers any time by going to the website...it would defeat one of the main purposes of the contest...to get people to listen...
I didn't mean to make a glib remark about the prerecorded #'s or cause any undue stress on your part Jeremy, I honestly thought It would make it easier on those days you knew you weren't gonna be in studio often. Trust me I enjoy when you get on the radio...even just to hear about the community forum for the umpteen-billionth time...cuz I know a live person is behind the voice.
We can tell what kind of mood your in, or if you've have a good or bad day,by the inflections & tone in your voice. Also by the # of times you are on the air, we can tell how stressful or easy your day has been...
I'd much rather hear you live than recorded, I just thought it might help on the busy days...
I agree with StevieB. The point of the whole contest was to get more listeners. I realize I would totally benefit from posting somewhere or having the numbers recorded to go off at set times during the day (I've been out of the office more it seems since the contest started-funny coincidence), but I don't know if it would be such a great idea to post the numbers.
In short, stay with what you're doing. It's working...I think.
I can see your point, Jeremy. We can always ask each other through the private messaging. I have had people ask me and I've asked people, so I'll just keep doing that. It's all good. (I SO can not pull off that phrase! )
