Good day all.

Today looks like it'll be a pretty good day here.  I'm getting caught up on some of that stuff that's been put off forever.

Good morning everyone.  I'm still at home today.  Have a doctor's appointment at 11:30; hopefully I'll get some Antivert so the crazy funhouse ride ends.

Mz, I'm going to ask her about allergy testing.  If I remember right, it was right around this time of year the last time this happened to me.  Maybe something outside could be a trigger.  Might be inside too since I had the furnace on a couple of times earlier last week.  Won't hurt to see what she says.

Today is not a good day for me. First, in between snoozes I had a dream that I already had got up. It wasn't a bad dream. I was doing my normal of heading to my bathroom when my husband started tickling me and I laughed out loud which he thought I was crying in my sleep and woke me up. I woke up all confused as I thought I had already got up. Then my vanity stool broke. My deodorant decided it was done and the remainder fell on the floor. I didn't have time to to make breakfast so my husband stopped at McD's. My pop then spilled on me. Can I just go back to bed? cry.gif

Oh and I see the forum did not fix itself and I don't think I have the patience for it. Oh and I reminder that tomorrow is my father-in-law's heart surgery so i won't be here. If all goes well then I will be back Thurs. We did apply to have Thurs off as well but only as a precaution.

It won't hurt anything other than your pocket book. Oh, and your arm if she does the pin prick test. I got "lucky," one of my reactions is a rash, so they had to take a blood sample instead. If anything, it'll satisfy your curiosity.

You just had to mention sticking me with a pin didn't ya??  bleh  I'd rather they draw blood, but if it can rule out one more thing, then I guess I can suck it up and be brave enough to have it done.  hmm

By tomorrow you may not be able to lift your coffee cup.  Better bring a straw to work for the next couple of days.  giggle.gifwink

I think its weird how the pain the day after is only kinda bad, but after 48 hrs it really sets in! It used to be anything that made me sore was done hurting in 48 hrs!

Morning all.

Wow, this is the longest the forum has ever gone with this kind of a problem.

I guess I'll see if there's a way to contact them.  I'm starting to wonder if it's just our forum having trouble.  Maybe they're not even aware of it.

good morning. i don't get it -- if i go to bed early, i wake up more tired than if i go to bed around 11:30... yawn.gif

so, yesterday, i hear THE MAN is talking cutbacks... then today, i hear he want's more participation in donating to the United Way program... weirdface.gif
speaking only for myself...
1. i don't donate to the United Way or other such programs because their overhead is ridiculous.
2. i know i'm "safe" as far as cutbacks, but i'm already stealing from peter to pay paul.
3. i make donations throughout the year in other ways that i see more senisble -- such as school programs that assist needy families; the round up program in my electric co-op; and the food bank...

oh, well... just a morning office rant...

Howdy folks.

Ghost, I hope the Dr can help you.

Woo, I hope dad-in-law does well tomorrow.

I gotta go work in the shop today as long as my hosting customers will let me.

Mrs Web had an eye exam yesterday. She too is now venturing into the land of bifocals. She wanted new frames to get the Sarah Palin look. They had one style that they are selling that is supposed to be very close to Sarah's, but those frames were $350. Mrs Web opted for ones that are less than 1/2 that price but still somewhat similar.

This weekend I rented the sifi movie "Serenity". I had heard it was good, and I knew that Summer Glau was in it so I thought it couldn't be too bad. It was a pretty good movie (if you like sifi stuff), but for me, Summer Glau was totally overshadowed by the extreme cuteness that is Jewel Staite. (I think Summer is better in the Terminator series than she was in Serenity.)

Next, I learned that a TV series called "Firefly" (2002) is where the "Serenity" (2005) movie came from. I had heard of "Firefly" but never watched it. It only ran for 12 episodes but all 12 of them are on Hulu.com so yesterday/last night I watched the first three of them. They seem to be pretty good shows, its too bad it only ran for 12 episodes (unless it goes downhill later).

I now also know that Jewel was on the later "Stargate" series . . . I have never watched any of them, I might have to look up some of those now too. smile.gif

From my experience working at a charity that received donations that were made through United Way, you're doing the right thing, DS.  Getting a donation through the UW was better than no donation at all, but they take so much out that the charity often gets less than half of the donation.

I have a buddy that used to be in the Cival Air Patrol. Our boss was pushing us to give to the United Way too and on the form there was a place to specify where it went so I selected C.A.P. My buddy said thanks, but going through UW, they would only see 4% of it.

Thanks Web.

FYI- Firefly/Serenity is from Joss Whedon aka The Buffyverse smile

I did not see it though. But Joss is awesome

Wait, it is only Tuesday? Darn. For some reason I thought it was Wednesday. Bummer. It was foggy this morning but the sun was starting to break through as I came into the office. I think it is due to be another beautiful day.

My Phillies had the lead, lost the lead and came from behind to win last night. They now have lead the series 3 games to 1. Hopefully thier top pitcher will finish off the Dodgers on Wednesday night.

The Flyers were losing, then had the lead and then lost the lead.

Let's go Phillies. Let's go Flyers!

Okay, gotta read some forum and then I am off to crunch more numbers. Or at least transfer crunched numbers to paper.

I didn't know that about Joss Whedon either.

Firefly also has some other well known actors. Adam Baldwin who is now the under cover agent on Chuck (and many other shows). A much older Ron Glass from WKRP fame. Nathan Fillion from Desparate Housewives (and other shows).  Alan Tudyk who was also in 3:10 to Yuma. Gina Torres from 24 and many others too. I mentioned Summer Glau who is the good Terminator in the Sarah Connor Chronicles series (which is likely getting cancelled).

But, Jewel Staite  . . . phew . . . she's cool. smile.gif

Woo... praying for your father in law.

Ghost... good luck with your dr appointment.

I'm staying home today. Didn't feel quite right yesterday, and woke up this morning with a low grade fever and a sore throat. Sleeping sounded better than fighting through it. hmm.gif

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

Nathan Fillion from Desparate Housewives (and other shows).

He was on One Life To Live for the brief time I watched that soap and he was also on Buffy the last season. Joss must really like him. He was also in that internet musical of Joss' we were talking about awhile back. Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. smile

Wow, 4% is really low. I wonder if there's a sliding scale or something. I remember one example where someone donated $25 to us through UW, and we actually got $7. I don't see how they can justify that. What a profitable non-profit.

Oh, I love Firefly! And I agree, I like Jewel Staite.

Mema, sorry to hear you're under the weather - rest and be well!

Me, I'm doing a phone screen for one job today and doing a personality assessment in preparation for a third interview for a different position this Wednesday. Wish me luck!

Good luck Ggal, did not realize you might change jobs.

Hope all goes well Ghost at the docs.

Wishing you lots of good luck G-gal!!!  Really hoping something opens up soon for you.  smile

I got some more pills to counteract the vertigo; should feel a lot better by this time tomorrow. smile  Our insurance won't cover the allergy testing so I'm going to hold off on having it done until after Christmas. hmm  She wants to run some more scans, take another look inside my head "just to be sure."  I'll be having an MRI on November 19th.  The hospital called me around 4:00, told me found that allowing people to listen to music during an MRI helps keep the claustrophobia away, and to bring a cd with me and they'll pipe it in.  I'll be jammin' to some Killing Joke while I'm in the tube. biggrin
