I just got back to the computer and had this email from the support department.  Hopefully the forum is working correctly again as they suggested...

Hi Jeremy,
 
We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced during the
past few days.
 
On Saturday during the day, one of our servers fell into an unresponsive
state which resulted in partially interrupted usage of ActiveBoard for
several days.
 
While we would have typically repaired any issue as soon as we become
aware of its occurrence, the Sparklit Support team was away visiting
relatives as it was Thanksgiving weekend in Canada.
 
The issue was resolved quickly this morning just after 9:30am, and you
should experience no further problems of this nature.
 
Again, sorry for any inconvenience and please let us know if you have
any further questions or problems.
