Oddball Memories

THere was once this guy named James who worked here running machines. He played baritone sax and once bought it into work, because it was too cold to keep outiside in his car. So he showed it to me- it was really beautiful. I said "blow some notes, man". But he said. "Oh no, I get paid union scale to do that." I wasn't going to give James a dime.doh Its just that, if you have the thing out, why not show people how it sounds?confused

years ago, in high-school and early college, I worked in a corner hardware store. the owners were nice enough people, but they just kinda marched to the beat of their own drum, so to speak. we just couldn't figure out what made them odd.

One afternoon, me and this kid jeff were sitting at the register on our shift, and in come the owners in square dancing outfits. that was their thing, they loved their squaredancing. his shirt was made out of the same checkered material that her skirt was made out of, and they had little matching cowboy hats. Me and jeff made up a docy-doh(sic?) song on the spot so they could show us a couple of moves as they headed out the door to their square dancing club. I think that was probably the hardest I had ever laughed.

Odd, Most people play music because they love it and people like to share what they love with others.  Its just human nature.

His mercenary attitude with music is sad.
