But you WI guys have to be happy that Jenkins now has a ring after all those years he gave the Brewers.

Don't worry, the Rays seemed to do the same thing for us.

As long as the Brewers are able to retain some pitching, I still think they will have a good shot of making the playoffs again.

And Tampa is a good team. They fought and won a heck of a division. Keep an eye on them. Their pitchers are young and could be around a while.

Now come on JD. He may not have been able to win in Milwaukee, but he played better for you guys. He tried. He got a few timely hits this year. I guess I expected more from him. Last night's double helped to repress other points in the season when he didn't come through.

Yeah, I got no problems with Jenkins. He was a crappy player the last few years, but he was always a stand-up guy. So as long as he's not striking out on the low inside fastball for my team, he's alright in my book. nod.gif

I couldn't, and still can't, understand why he swings at those pitches. He can't hit them. If he hit two out of every three pitches down there, I wouldn't mind.

Hey JR, JD and Dylan - what do you guys think about your new Brewer's manager?

I was kind of hoping for Bob Brenly, and I'm not even sure why. He's kind of annoying to listen to on Cubs broadcasts, and has had a real attitude against the crew because of the way they watch their homers fly and untuck their shirts. Then again, I'm not a fan of that crap either.

Macha seems like an alright guy based on the press conference I watched yesterday. He answered some tough questions and never seemed to be dodging anything. I like that. He also didn't act like he was annoyed by the questions, which is what really ticked me off about Ned Yost.

I think Macha might be the guy to finally hold some of these players responsible, so I'm excited to see what he can do. HOWEVER, I am concerned that this is the guy Melvin wanted six years ago and now he's getting him. I hope he didn't have tunnel vision on this guy. Melvins made all the right moves so far though (I'll just pretend Gagme for $10 this year didn't happen), so I trust his judgement.

Now my question for you Fuzzy is this. Did you REALLY wanna know what we thought, or was this just an excuse to bring up the CONGRATS TO THE PHILLIES thread again? wink.gif

I did really want to know whatyou guys thought. I didn't want to start a new baseball thread since baseball is now finished for 2008. Although, there is a lovely parade currently working it's way to the stadium (and it doesn't have anything to do with Halloween).

Have you seen the story that the Brewers want to offer CC $100m for 4 years?

I have!

I thought we might have a real chance at keeping him. But now I don't know. The turnover of the staff may change how he feels.

$25 million a year is a ton of money. I wonder if the Brewers should have started lower and than matched the $25k a year by another team. Rumor has it he would like to be on the west coast.

Attanasio was saying they were trying to structure it so they didn't have to pay it all up front, but over many years.

Good. Because they may not have that cash for many years. But I would bet that more fans would be at the games if they retained CC. I know a lot of fans go now, but more fans helps pay the bills.
