Beer Cheese?

Ever heard of it?

I went to the store today to get some cheese and crackers.  I thought they'd be good to snack on while I watch the election results roll in.

Normally I get Swiss Almond, but they didn't have any.  So it was between your basic flavors, Port Wine, or a new one called Beer Cheese.  hmm.gif

I got the Beer Cheese.  I haven't tried it yet, but now I'm wondering if it were a mistake.  I like Beer.  I like Cheese.  But for some reason the two combined don't sound like a great idea.

riggs, Chancery has a beer cheese soup that is phenomenal. I thought it sounded way gross, but yummy. they serve it with a big hot soft pretzel to dip in it. I bet you'll like the beer cheese.

Yeah, now that you mention it JD, I recall Erica trying a Beer Cheese Soup at the Fire Pit restaurant in the casino once. We all thought it sounded weird but she liked it.

That's it, I gotta try it. Gonna pop it open RIGHT NOW! hungry.gif

Never heard of it. I agree, Doesn't sound like beer and cheese would go together. That is why they invented wine. nod.gif

I hope you like it. Give us a review.

Hmm. It's softer and smoother than my Almond Swiss, which is good for spreading on the cracker.

The beer content must be fairly low, because it doesn't really taste like beer, but it is a unique flavor.

I think based on flavor it's good, but I still prefer the slight bite of the Almond Swiss. Based on consistency though, this is much better for spreading on a cracker. The Almond Swiss often broke the cracker when I'd spread it, this stuff doesn't do that.

On a 1 - 10 scale I'd give it an 8.

Maybe JD. You do have all that beer there. Plus there seems to be a little cheese throughout the state. This is probably one of those things that was created by accident.

I've had beer cheese before and I loved it. I remember when I was little, my grandparents took me to a restaurant that had beer cheese and crackers. I thought I was getting away with something when I ate it, but after that, I thought all restaurants should have cheese and crackers on the table.

Man, I need to go to the store and get me some cheese and crackers now.

See!  It's addictive!  I wasn't thinking about cheese and crackers until I went to pick up that cheese & sausage tray for my Mom this morning.

After I delivered it to her I thought "Man, I WANT some cheese n' crackers"  hmm.gif

I have pepperjack cheese at home. It goes on the cracked black pepper and olive oil triscuits I have.

Beer cheese would probably rock if you like beer. I've heard of beer cheese soup. One of the micro-brew places around here offers it.
