It's Friday!

Good day all.

I've got a busy weekend coming up.  I'm participating in a "ReStartup Weekend" to resurrect the idea we launched during Startup Weekend last winter.  Basically, the idea is to take the whole weekend to start a company.  We go from 6-10 or longer tonight, 9am-10:30pm or longer tomorrow, and 9-7 on Sunday.

I've been skipping tai chi on Saturday mornings that's usually 9-12.

Tomorrow, I'm skipping tax class from 9-12 which is what I skipped tai chi for.

I also need to somehow write 6,000 words into my novel over the weekend.  Luckily, so far I've been passing my goal of 2,000 words a day, so I'm ahead.  So even if I don't get a bit of writing done this weekend, I'll still be on track on Monday.  I just won't have a lead any more and will have less room for bad writing days where I might not meet my daily goal.

Anyone have any extra hours they'd like to lend me?

Morning. I am glad it is Friday. The boss is driving me crazy. I know, shocker. I sent her one last fie at 6:30 last night and was out the door by 6:35. This morning I come in to two e-mails. The first was 6:37 saying, "I will call you shortly." The second at 6:41 saying, "Please call me." Seriously? Did you not even think to look at the clock? I know the answer to that. She obviously thought I was still her since I had sent her a file 10 minutes earlier. I can't wait until the clock strikes 4:30 today.

I can start me month end work now, so I will probably be scarce.

My alarm clock did not go off this morning but my husband woke up not too long after it should have. I really hope maybe I set the day wrong somehow. I love this clock and don't want it to be done cry

There has been no change with my father-in-law so he is still on the upswing. Maybe the tube wil come out today. It sounds like we are gonna try and go up there tomorrow afternoon. My husband needs to go to the shooting range first as he has not had a chance to prepare for hunting with all this going on.

Our company has their Chinese Auction tomorrow so I need to see if someone will put tickets into the raffles for us and watch for our number.

That is all.

I'm glad its friday & I'm glad its payday.
We had a good town hall meeting at work yestarday. Our company is doing well and continues to grow despite the economy. Certain rumors were dispelled about our recent merging with another company. All is well for now.

Well, for the official Startup Weekend, that's part of the process.  We did that last winter.  But, because of Indiana's law on incorporating, we never got to start the business.  So we're getting together this weekend to start the same idea over from scratch, but do it in a way that Indiana lets us incorporate.

So, the business is a 4th party event service.  It collects all the events listed on various websites and publications in the Bloomington area and puts them all in one central location.

KC area is supposed to start seeing a "wintery mix" around Monday. Perhaps it will hold off from you in Tulsa a bit longer than that, DS.

Wow, I'm getting really lucky compared to everyone else. There's some rain predicted for early next week, but it's at night and won't be cold enough to turn into anything else. Today's high is 62, not too bad for November.

I know what you mean! I'm not a winter time kind of person. I'm thinking that we will mostly get rain during the day, but I have some concern that the temperature will drop enough at night to make ice an issue. That is what I really dislike.

The story so far is that the van tipped on it's side, not a rollover and no one is critical. Everyone is being transported to the hospital though. My husband will be at one hospital. But some are going to another hospital.

Hi all!  It's another nice day here.  clap.gif  Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy and cold, with a chance of snow mixing in too.  I might take the girls to a Women's Expo tomorrow if they want to go.

I just found out today that I get a long weekend next week.....we have Friday off due to the teachers having to go to school to further their education.  My boss decided to call a short staff meeting next Thursday morning instead of having us come in for it on Friday.  Granted it'll be another 6:00 a.m. meeting, but it's better than going in on Friday morning.

Woo, hope your father-in-law continues to improve now.

Mz, good luck with your restart up business.  Hope it's as fun for you this year as it was last year.

Hey MZ,

Speaking of startups. How's Braino Designs coming along? Is Brian selling a lot of his stuff?

D, oh man, it's still too early for Christmas music. And I sure wouldn't want to be listening to it all day!

JR: Sucky. No. We sold some to neighbors when he first started it, but we haven't had much interest other than that. I think I am going to spam my friends about it closer to Thanksgiving. What we really need to do is meet with local retailers to see about setting up something on consignment. Right now, I don't have the time, and both of us are pretty shy about doing stuff like that.

Mz, does he have enough made up right now that maybe he could get a table at some of the upcoming Christmas bizzares?  Any schools or churches near you that do those without charging an arm and leg for table space?

It's hard getting started online.

I know what you mean about being shy about stuff like that too. Even when JD & I were going to local businesses asking them to put our flyer in the window I always felt funny asking them.

Hopefully things will pick up with it over time though.

I don't know if there's anything like that coming up.  That's a good idea, though.  Part of the problem with that at this exact moment is time.  Brian doesn't drive, so I would have to go with him.  I'm better at the customer service part of things anyway.  But I have tax school, plus writing the book, plus other weekend commitments.  Other than a few emails, I don't think we'll do much with it until spring.
