I heard they had closed a large portion of SD, due to 4 feet of snow!

anyone want to come shovel our street? rofl.gif The mall is open...sparkys office is open but we cant get out of our neighborhood.....go figure. They have plowed the main streets and highways but havent even touched the residential streets..let alone the county streets...I figure I will get out tomorrow. During that last storm I went to work the next day and it took me an hour to get the 3 miles to work. no.gif I dont want to do that again.

Jeez... 10 ft. snow drift? I did hear that parts of the Native American lands in North Dakota have up to 20 foot snow drifts. I can't imagine what that would be like. Good luck to you with getting dug out.

the power at our house was out for about an hour on Wed night, but its been on for the most part since then. Every once in a while it goes out and comes right back on. There are alot of people in the rural areas that are without power. My grandparents and Sparkys parents were out for about 15 hours but are restored now. They are worried that when the ice starts falling off the trees and power lines it will start more outages again.

oh and we only have a foot in our area with the huge drifts...I couldnt imagine having 4 feet and drifts ten feet higher than that.

I did make it to work though! We have a redneck in our neighborhood with a small monster truck and he was able to bust through the drifts around the back way. Then about 30 of us in four wheel drives filed out one by one. I was going crazy listening to AC yesterday, I needed to get out of there!!! Nah actually it was nice to have a family snow day yesterday. We played card games and watched movies. smile.gif

by the way..I made it to work about 3:00 this afternoon after a front end loader cleared a small path. I am now alone as the two day shift people that didnt come in until 1:00 went home at their normal time and left me here alllllllll awooonne. tears.gifsniff.gif
