Morning all. I'm here a bit early again. Our washer broke last night, the apt complex wants to talk to us about our rent that we see has not been cashed so I guess they lost the check, and my father-in-law seems to be doing better in regular room but still needs a sitter or a family member because he will try to leave. hmm

Why is Veterans Day only a bank holiday? I think it should be a national holiday. Government employees and bank workers get the day off, while the veterans themselves are at work.

Happy Veteran's Day to one and all. For those of you who served in our nation's military, thank you.



I'm pleased to see all of the ways in which this country is honoring our veterans. We are having a two day event at the campus. There will be an indoor ceremony today in our Winter Garden, and tomorrow there will be an outdoor event including the landing of a Chinook and an Apache. It should be really nice.

As a bank worker, Mrs Web is home today AND its her birthday. She's older than me again. smile.gif

We have a little icy, snowy stuff on the ground. Its a little slippery in spots, but not bad. School started normal time.

7000 of the cuts are coming from Wilmington, OH. Ohio in general is one of the worst unemployment areas in the country, and I guess the city of Wilmington is mostly employed by DHL.

My husband is home from work today....city government employee so he gets the day off for Vets Day.  I had to work......biggrin!!   He leaves Friday morning to go deer hunting for a week.  clap.gifbiggrinbiggrin  (Can you tell how happy this makes me?? wink)

DHL in Wilmington is a huge account for us. Revenues are probably around $5 million a year. So, not only do the DHL employees lose their jobs, our people lose their jobs too. That doesn't help the area's unemployment rate either.

Unfortunately, I come with bad news again.
My father-in-law has been diagnosed with Sundowners. This is a condition which has been linked to the beginning stages of Alzheimer's. His mother had Alzheimer's. This whole ordeal may have pushed him over the edge! Anyway they experience extreme agitation and confusion once the sun goes down. Last night he may have slept a little over an hour. The rest of the night he called Mom every name in the book and tried to kick her. crying.gif

If this passes it may take several weeks, but with the family history we fear the worst. Uncle Dave is taking the night shift and Mom is taking the day shift for now.
