Good morning, all. Been working since 1AM, but I'm about to knock off for some sleep. The holiday of the day is "Have A Bad Day" day... try not to observe this one, okay? I think it's actually supposed to be in the 60's here later today. I hope so anyway.
Oh yeah... I was wrong about when the Chili Cookoff is. It is today. The guy who made the entry for our team texted me last night as he was making it. He said that he refused to actually try the chili he made as he suspects it is actually melting the enamel off of the inside of his crock pot. Says just standing near the chili and inhaling the fumes has burned all of the hair out of his nose, but no worries because his tears put out the actual flames.
I think the guys are going to put together another bribe to get Carl to try it. That is if he is around later. He probably sees this one coming...

Good morning everyone. I'm at home right now waiting to go in for an MRI in about another hour. Gotta get my head scanned to see if I've lost my mind or if it's still in there hiding somewhere.
We got some snow this morning; just enough to cover the roads and sidewalks. Third morning in a row I've had to clean off my car........I'm already sick of winter and it hasn't really gotten here yet.
I'm here, barely. I had another sleepless night. I think I might have got an hour this morning before the alarm went off. I only know that because I had a weird dream. So I am not sure if I will make it through the day. Depends on if it all tries to catch up with me.

Actually it's an MRI they scheduled back when I had that last episode of vertigo Woo......they want to take another look just to make sure nothing's wrong. I'm sure it's going to be ok.
I just found out that my husband has to work the day after Thanksgiving. That's really going to put a damper on our holiday. We're going to have to leave after work Wednesday night, drive the 4 hours up, catch a few hours sleep, do 2 Thanksgivings, and drive home that night, probably around 5. It also means I won't be able to stop and see my dad on the way back home.
Looking ahead to Christmas, it's on a Thursday this year, which means he probably won't get the day after off. (I will.) I'm wondering if he'll get Christmas Eve off. If not, he might not be able to have Christmas with his family.
I just found out yesterday that we have the Wednesday before Thanksgiving off this year. I don't know what's up with that.....3 days off for Thanksgiving?? I'm thinking it might have something to do with the fact that I work in a relatively wealthy school district and people (parents of students) have been complaining about not having enough travel time for the holiday......you know, airports being extremely busy, flights overbooked, etc., so they want to fly out early, maybe Tuesday night. This is just a guess on my part, but I don't think I'm too far off in my way of thinking.

We had to have the garage door repaired. The Sears repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a 'large' enough motor on the opener. I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one Sears made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower.
He shook his head and said, 'Lady, you need a 1/4 horsepower.'
I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4.
He said, 'NO, it's not.' Four is larger than two.' We haven't used Sears repair since.
