Has anyone here heard of Lively?

It's basically an animated chat room with 3-d characters that you can customize.  It sounds like something we would have fun with.

I heard about it today when I read an article that they're shutting it down at the end of the year.

Why do I always hear about the cool stuff when it's over?

So now I'm debating whether to check it out, and then just be disappointed when I can't use it anymore.
