I was in an okay mood, but my mood suddenly took a turn for the worse. I found out that I Want Sandy, the reminder service I absolutely loved, is closing down completely in less than a week.
Sorry Mz. I think there will be more of those kinds of things closing. As the economy gets worse, the hopes of making money through those services gets more dim.
A couple weeks ago, I was complaining about a customer that was driving me nuts. As of today, he should be happy. I got it so that the McAfee scanning service he signed up for is now showing his site as "compliant" on all levels. The service is total dung beetle food, but he should be happy now.
This guy's wife is making bead jewelry and I think he believes that having the McAfee "safe to shop" seal on his site is going to make sales go through the roof. If only it were that easy.
Another day of breathing has begun. Lets see where it leads us.
That's part of what makes me mad though. It's not closing because of the economy. The guy that developed the site was hired by Twitter. But it appears the services he made are just getting shut down. It makes me mad at Twitter for not wanting to keep them going.
it sure is a busy and expensive month. Not that I wish to speed past the holidays, but in some ways I wish it were already January, when things seem to calm down and get boring for a couple of months.
I could use a healthy dose of too much time on my hands and boredom. I don't see either in the near future.

Hello all. I'm here but am still working on payroll. I also don't feel all that chatty lately. I'm sorry. It probably has to do with Winter and that I feel run down. I've also noticed that I am more easily distracted at work than normal and I keep forgetting what I am doing and keep getting behind.
I also need to finish up my Christmas cards and get them out, but that also means I need stamps and envelopes. So if you need to update your address with me or have never given me your address them shoot me a pm so I can update my list. Thanks!

I found out last night that there were only two Boston Legal episodes remaining, one of course being last night. Way to give some notice. I don't even get a full season in it's last year. Bummer. Oh well. Guess that means my Monday nights are free to simply catch up on my recorded tv or maybe read or maybe a good workout. We shall see.

Mz, I saw your Twitter post about "PingMe". Does it let you set up recurring events? Like a credit card bill due every month on the 15th, etc?
I've been checking out PingMe this morning (gopingme.com), and so far I'm liking it.
Pros: Yes, it does let you set up reoccuring events. But the thing I love about it is that it gives you the option to Pester yourself. So basically, it keeps reminding you via email, Twitter, or text message every so often based on what you tell it (10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, etc.) until you tell it you've done the task. So you can set up that your credit card bill is due on the 15th of the month, and then have it pester you every day until you pay it and mark it as done. Then it starts all over again the next month.
Cons: No calendar. The only visual I get is a page with a bunch of things that look like sticky notes. I'd prefer some sort of calendar export or format.
Morning all. I set the alarm for 5:45AM... It started screeching at me so I turned it off and thought "I'm just gonna lay here for a minute before I get moving" When I next opened my eyes, it was 7:04AM. Welcome to Tuesday!

I used to use my bank's online notification thing but they changed some stuff and that went away. Now I'm using the "Reminder Fox" addon to Firefox but it's not great either. The "pestering" thing may be good for me as more than once I've gotten the reminder email and think "ok, do that this afternoon" only to forget again.
You need the extra hour of sleep. But I am sure it put you behind a little today.
Meh... I live in "Mema time" ... there are 24 perfectly useable hours in a day. Matters little to me which of them I'm at work. Hazard of working in the 24X7 world. I didn't miss any meetings, so it's all good.

Hi all. I woke up this morning without my voice and a nasty chest cold. Yippie; 5th one I've had since returning to work back in September. I think my immune system is all outta whack. I'm going to start loading up on a multi vitamin and see if it helps build it back up.
It's been snowing here since Sunday and the weatherman says more is on the way; could be another big snowstorm moving in tomorrow. Do any of you that live down South or out West where it doesn't snow have room for a houseguest for the next 5 months? I'm a very good guest, you wouldn't even notice that I'm there.

You know, I LOVED Boston Legal and was sad to hear it was closing up this year, but at the same time I think it's overdue.
Don't you think it kind of went a little too far beyond goofy a year or so ago?
I'm so tired of "Hands" (who could NEVER actually work in a law office I would think) and Clarence and that annoying old woman (Betty White?).
I even think they've gone too far with Denny Crane. He's not endearing anymore, he's just become an ass.
I didn't even buy season four on DVD. $40 for a partial season that just didn't seem to measure up to the previous seasons. I couldn't get myself to pay it.
Well, look who finally rolled in to say hi today. Nice to see you JR.
I do think it got a bit too much. Now that you mention it, I haven't seen that Clarence guy in some time. I agree with your assessment on Hands. He is a partner now. Happened a few shows ago. Betty White is ridiculous and has surfaced in two or three episodes this year, last night being one of them. Next week they are going to the supreme court. And I think it is supposed to be a two hour show. I wonder what will be in the 10pm slot on Mondays come January.

I haven't watched all year. Maybe Clarence is finally gone.
It seems like the show always straddled the line between absurd and serious, and the last year and a half the absurd has won.
I liked that they had Candice Bergen, William Shatner, recently John Larroquette. Those actors along with the set and style of the show made it feel like something my grandparents would have watched and I would have hated when I was a kid, but now I like that type of show.
The last one that made me feel that way was THE WEST WING.
The relationship between Denny & Alan was fantastic. And the Alan character was so complex it was fun to watch. A guy who is a sleaze on so many levels yet very deep and caring on other levels.
His closing arguments in court always made excellent points that often challenged what I believed about a topic and really made me think my views through more thoroughly.
Yeah, the first two or three years it was some of the best that TV had to offer I think. I miss it. :(
