All packed to spend the weekend at the hotel for work's Christmas party. Picked up a sweater to wear last night. My ex-brother-in-law came over to talk about his situation. He says he is done but feels trapped because they are in a lease for another 8months. They previously got foreclosed on their old house and he really doesn't want to add leasing problems to his credit report. So I am not sure what he is gonna do. I understand some of his points but I can't see continuing for another 8 mnths. That's a long time! We tried to encourage him to talk to the property mgr to put a bug in his ear that if he could find someone else to rent then go for it. That way he knows but at the same time they aren't just bailing. I'm not sure if he was really listening though. We'll see.

Mornin'

I've got a kid complaining of tummy problems. On top of that, I was cleaning his glasses for him and realized that the screw that holds the lens in on one side is gone and the lens is about to fall out.

So, I'm home with the boy waiting to see if he's really sick, just needs a good burp, or exactly what is going on.

Morning gang. Payday for me. I have a feeling today is going to be one of those long days. I am already cranky and want to leave.

Web - Since it is Friday, I think he is just trying to coax a three day weekend out of you. Ah, just send him to school. If he is really sick they will call you.

oh hello nerd.gif

yesterday I received a call from a bank where I applied a while back as a proof operator. Basically its just running numbers through a 10 key punch machine a few nights a week for a few hours. I guess when I went to go test speed and accuracy I did ok enough that they wanna interview me.

I'm kinda torn about it tho. I've been doing speed and accuracy tests online just to get back into the swing of things, but after about 20 minutes my hand feels cramped up. I don't think I can do it. Kinda like playing guitar, after awhile my hands just get sore.

Back in the mid 90s tho, I used to rock a 10 key punch tho...

Happy Fiday all! I've got the day off today. Guess I will try to knock out the rest of my Christmas shopping.

Woo... have fun at your party this weekend.

Fuzzy... I hope your day goes better than expected.

Web... good luck with the boy. I hope he gets feeling better.

JD... good luck with your interview.

sorry no, I don't do anything correctly. I think my speed comes just from memory. My answer to my hand hurting was to get another number pad so that I could start teaching myself to use my other hand laughing.gif

thanks mama.
I'm kinda doing a passive search for somethin extra, just for extra fun money. It'd be nice, but not 100% necessary at this point.

G-gal may have an opportunity next year to go to China for her work- to meet with manufacterers and stuff. The plane tickets seem to be running anywhere from $1300-$1700. It might be a once in a lifetime oppourtunity to go see the world a bit.

Good morning kids!  yawn

Last night I went to the food store and they had a big display, buy one box of Van De Kamps Fish Fillets, get one free.  I love fish, but it's gotten so pricey the last few years I hardly ever buy it.  This deal was too good to pass up.

Unfortunately the checkout wound up passing it up just fine.  I got home and realized they never took off the price of the second box.

Now I gotta go in just to get a refund.  But it's $6.79, so it's past the cut off where I'd say "Ah, it's not worth the hassle to go back and get my refund".

It's hard to believe it's only a week and a half to Christmas already!  I'm already looking past it to New Years.  I hope 2009 is a better year than 2008 was.

Alright, I'm off to the sweeps...

You better have her read your signature line before she decides if she wants to go!

JR - some stores will give you the item that didn't ring up correctly for free. Maybe your trip back to the store will turn out better than your $7 owed you.

That's right, I'll give you fifty percent!

Now let's see, I will have paid nothing for the fish, so fifty percent of nothing is... Well hey! Look at that, I owe ya nothing! PLUS that means I save the price of the stamp!

This is turning out to be a GREAT day! clap.gif

All I was looking for was $1. You may be saving $13.

Awe. Alright, I'll tell ya what. If they give me both boxes for free I'll owe ya a beer when I finally get out there to a Phillies game.

Sound fair?

There's a good chance that JD and I will be receiving replacement ice scrapers before the month is over!

Will those replacement ice scrapers be bearing the name of the fine company you work for?

That is nice. But I can't see you boys getting your butts into Philly anytime soon. Plus, I would never ask you to buy me a beer at the game. That is way too expensive. I'll take you guys down the street or up and around the corner where a mug of beer is $1.50 and a domestic bottle is $1.85.

How does that sound?

Possibly.
My guess is that they might go with an electronic version. Similar to gas prices, it changes everyday.

Fuzzy, no luck. They just gave me the one free box I was supposed to get.

I was happy though because I had used a gift card I got from Capital One. The card was for $25 and the food order was for $24.50. I didn't want the money put back onto the card and they agreed to just give me cash.
