I'm off today too. Which is good, because I'm not feeling so great. I've felt like my allergies have been consistently bugging me the last few days. Last night I took a Benadryl, so I slept in this morning even though I went to bed early last night. Today I'm still feeling stuffed up and my throat hurts.
Our regular vacuum isn't working so well, so we've been using the touch-up vacuum. I think that's not picking up the dust mites in the carpet or something. So I'm taking the vacuum in to be fixed today. Then we're doing a good de-dusting cleanup this weekend.
I went to Walgreens today to buy one of those "as seen on TV" Pasta n' More cookers. You can cook your pasta in the microwave and the container can be used as a strainer and then server/storage.
I was surprised to find out that a box of pasta takes 27 minutes to cook in this thing!
None the less, I got some pasta cooking now (Rotini). I had an idea last night for a low-cal chilled pasta that I wanted to try. Gonna mix the rotini with some slice black olives and a big jar of mild salsa. I don't know why, but for some reason that sounded good to me.
We'll see if it tastes good. Maybe I'll have my sister try a bowl first
I'm impressed. The Pasta looks perfectly cooked. It was easy to drain, rinse, re-drain and then add the ingredients, mix it up and throw it in the fridge.
I give the PASTA AND MORE a thumbs up! 9 out of 10 stars!

YUM! Now, throw some cannellini beans in there for protein...
What time did you say was supper time?

Hi all. This is actually my last day of Christmas break, not counting the weekend. I'm really not looking forward to going back to work; I've even thought about turning in a letter of resignation. I don't want to go back there anymore. I dunno, I'll probably go back, work through June 11th, and then be done for good.
Anyway..... This week seams like it flew by!! I can't believe the holidays have been here and are gone already. As they say, time sure flies when you're having fun.
Sounds like a plan. We'll gripe about how we really don't want to be there, while everyone else won't have any pity for us since they've been working right along.
There's a possibility our schools might be closed on Monday...a slim possibility, but still! We're supposed to get freezing rain Sunday and Monday. My youngest girl is hoping for a "snow day" too. She's not ready to go back either.
My vacation is almost over too. I found out today- mom of the year- that the kids go back Tuesday! Man oh man they are killing us. But I will NOT stay home another day. Not sure if I am going to take her to daycare or let her sister watch her. I am ready, but I am sure by Tuesday, I will be hating work again!
Thanks Ruby. Tuesday? That's a weird way to schedule it.
At this point, I'm thinking I might have a cold instead of it just being my allergies. I took a Claritin today, and it didn't relieve any of my symptoms. And even when I should be, I haven't been all that hungry, and food isn't very appetizing. I'm glad I have the long weekend with nothing planned, it'll give me time to recoop. And Brian just felt my forehead and said he thinks I have a slight fever. I'm usually a bit on the cool side, so I'll take his word for it.
