Diet Sierra Mist or Sierra Mist Free. What's it gonna be?

A couple years ago the soda makers seemed to make a concious effort to all move away from calling their soda's "diet" soda.

Pepsi started calling everything ONE or FREE, and Coke started calling their no-cal offerings ZERO.

Today I got a flier at the store that says Sierra Mist Free is now Diet Sierra Mist.  hmm.gif

Wonder why the switch back.  Personally I liked the new titles.

I wonder of is it based on which sweetner they use. Maybe I will have to try and remember to read the labels of something labeled "Free" and "Diet".

That's a good point Fuzzy. I know there are FDA requirements that have to be met for something to be called Diet.
